A Rejuvenating Sexual Wellness Retreat At StolenTime St. Lucia

In the hustle and bustle of modern life, finding a moment of serenity can feel impossible. StolenTime St. Lucia, located on the picturesque north-west coast of Saint Lucia, offers a sanctuary designed to rejuvenate mind, body, and soul.

On the pristine Malabar Beach, this intimate resort invites guests to disconnect from their digital lives and reconnect with themselves through a variety of wellness activities.

Among the resort’s various offerings is a sexual wellbeing retreat led by Clio Wood, a renowned expert in the field of women’s health and sexual wellbeing. Clio is a published author and is well-known in the field for &Breathe post-natal and menopause retreats. Her book ‘Get Your Mojo Back’ is a rallying call for women to reclaim their sexuality and find sexual fulfilment. It is also the basis of the ‘Get Your Mojo Back’ retreat at StolenTime St. Lucia.

Getting Your Mojo Back With Clio Wood

Clio Wood’s retreat at StolenTime St. Lucia was a brave and empowering exploration into the complexities of sexual wellbeing, particularly as women living in the modern day. The programme, meticulously designed to offer a holistic approach to intimacy, addressed both physical and emotional aspects of sexual health. The workshops were intimate and Clio was extremely adept at creating a safe and welcoming space for all participants to share their own sexual wellbeing journeys, no matter how embarrassing they may seem.

Over the course of three days, we learned how to properly engage pelvic floor exercises. We explored our journey as women and learned the importance of building ‘sexual currency’ in a relationship, particularly when the heavier portion of the mental load is often carried by women. We embraced taking up space and becoming the actors of our own self-advocacy and investigated how our relationships with our own bodies influence our relationships with others too. Finally, we unlocked our pleasure toolkit, with tips and tricks on reconnecting sexually with our partners and more importantly with ourselves.

The retreat was wonderfully comprehensive, blending educational sessions with practical exercises that helped us take ownership of their desires and boundaries in a safe, supportive environment. And with regular mindfulness practices and bodywork, such as yoga and meditation which were tailored to enhance sexual vitality and emotional connection, the retreat well and truly helped us get our mojo back.

The Vibe

An ideal setting for the ‘Get Your Mojo Back’ retreat, StolenTime St. Lucia occupies a two-mile stretch of beachfront and is just a five-minute drive from St. Lucian capital of Castries. Originally a vast coconut estate, it became the Malabar Beach Hotel under St. Lucian planter Dennis Barnard. Evolving through the decades, it transitioned from Malabar Beach Hotel to Couples St. Lucia in 1983, and finally to Rendezvous in 1993 under Craig Barnard. The resort is centred around 150-year-old Samaan tree, adorned with lights at night, offering a romantic verdant and tranquil vibe.

All this comes together to provide a tranquil backdrop for introspection, particularly when tackling sensitive topics such as the best tools for the trade when unlocking the female orgasm. Whether it’s the soothing sounds of the Caribbean Sea or the gentle sway of the island’s palms, every element of StolenTime St. Lucia is designed to help guests reconnect with themselves.

The Rooms

StolenTime St. Lucia  offers 100 rooms from entry-level garden view rooms to lush beachfront cottages and poolside suites. We stayed in one of the Garden View rooms, housed in a three storey West Indian Style building. The rooms were sweet and cosy, although a little far from the beachfront. The rooms are fully air-conditioned (a blessing amidst the St. Lucian heat) with king-sized four-poster beds of solid maple or mahogany and rattan or hardwood furnishings.

There are two pools, including a Lazy River, as well as plenty of places to lounge both under and away from the Caribbean sunshine. Originally built in the 1970s, StolenTime St.Lucia looks a bit like it has been preserved in time too, with a low-key barefoot vibe. The pool by the Water Garden is especially tranquil, but nothing beats sitting beachfront and enjoying one of the resort’s infamous Sea Breezes, the perfect Caribbean cocktail for watching the sun set while listening to the waves crash into the shore.

One of the best things about StolenTime St. Lucia’s beach front is that it is open to the locals too, so you’ll often see people playing football by the shore or local children enjoying swimming in the sea.

The Food + Drink

Dining at StolenTime St. Lucia is relaxed with plenty of locally inspired dining options. The casual all-day dining Terrace Restaurant serves a wonderful breakfast complete with egg station and a selection of dairy-free and gluten-free baked goods too. Evening dining is characterised by a nightly theme including the ever-popular Beach Barbeque and West Indian theme nights, complete with live entertainment.

If you’re looking for a more elevated dining experience, then Thyme offers an elegant, air-conditioned white tablecloth gastronomic delight with an à la carte menu that changes every three nights over a two-week cycle.

For those who prefer a more casual setting, the Malabar Beach Club provides a relaxed barefoot dining experience right on the beach, featuring light cuisine made from local island ingredients. A particular favourite is the Champagne Bar, which hosts bubble hour every night at 7pm. During these intimate gatherings, guests enjoy different Champagnes, Proseccos and cavas from all over the world, complete with a guided tasting and live music.

The Spa

StolenTime St. Lucia offers a blend of relaxation and adventure and is equipped with a wealth of facilities and activities to choose from. The Spa in the Water Garden features a small menu of restorative treatments, including beauty treatments, body wraps, and various massages. It also houses one of only two Ayurvedic centres in Saint Lucia, providing ancient wellness practices from Kerala.

For active holidaymakers, the resort itself is an island playground with a PADI Scuba Centre, water sports, three pools, a state-of-the-art gym, fitness classes, biking, hiking, tennis, and golf, catering to solo, couples and group activities. We especially loved our morning tennis classes with TJ, who was a consummate professional despite our lack of natural tennis ability.

The To-Do List

While the resort does have an endless array of activities, we highly recommend venturing out from StolenTime and seeing all the wonders that St. Lucia has to offer. The best way to do this? Hop on one of the island’s many speedboat tours. We spent the day visiting the Pitons, a World Heritage Site and one of the most impressive sights in the Caribbean. We followed this with a visit in the volcanic Sulphur Springs, a stopover at a rainforest waterfall, before snorkelling amongst St. Lucia’s colourful marine life. The day ended with a casual buffet-style lunch at a restaurant on stilts in a Mangrove forest and while these tours are not exactly luxury per se, and offer much more of a party atmosphere, we can ensure that you’ll have a great time.

For those seeking to escape the pressures of daily life and invest in their personal health at StolenTime St. Lucia, with its comprehensive wellbeing programmes and stunning natural beauty, offers an unparalleled retreat experience. Clio Wood’s sexual wellbeing retreat was one of the excellent retreats offered, allowing us to explore our own sexual wellness in a holistic way, and there’s no better place to feel safe than at StolenTime St. Lucia.
