CEO of the travel and fashion brand Nere, Felicity McGahan, chats with Citizen Femme’s founder, Sheena, about how to travel in style.
Felicity McGahan has built an impressive career, spanning many of Australia’s top fashion brands from Gap to CottonOn, and likes to joke that she has sold more jeans and t-shirts than anyone else in the world. Now, Felicity helms the half a billion dollar business Strand Bags, who have just expanded Nere luggage with the brand’s launch in the UK market.
If there’s one thing that Nere does really well, it’s standing out from the rest of the luggage industry with the impressive variety of colours the bags are offered in. Bright and cheery and decorated with lines that mimic the ripple of waves on Bondi Beach, each piece reflects the optimistic qualities of Australia.
On this podcast episode, Felicity delves into how the luggage we bring on holiday is no longer purely functional, but bears a fashion statement too. How we dress in the airport is part of our personal visual style and Nere is here to satisfy that, while also proving to be well-engineered bags too. Plus, flying twice a week for work, from Melbourne to Sydney and back, Felicity has plenty of travel tips and tricks to share. You can find a teaser of Felicity’s travel advice below:
Sheena: “Talk us through the packing tips you use that really work.”
Felicity: “One of our customers has five children and organises their holiday packing by colour-coordinated packing cubes and suitcases so that when they arrive in the hotel . It’s also so sweet watching the joy on kids’ faces when they are wheeling their own luggage through the airport. ”
Sheena: “It’s so empowering for the kids too, right?!”
