Relax, rejuvenate, recalibrate, reconnect, I could go on. Some key words to consider at the start of this year.
We’re back at work but that doesn’t mean we have to dive feet straight in. Plan those mid-month getaways, treat yourself to a brunch catch up with friends, and satiate that calling for ‘me’ time. Plus, I’m making sure comfort is key this year. So this footwear plus this one capsule wardrobe essential will undoubtedly become your most usable pieces for 2025. This is what we’re loving in this week’s Citizen Femme hotlist.

The daytime menu will showcase a range of starters and raw dishes, with notable offerings including the crispy fried egg served elegantly atop parmesan cream and salmon with crunchy rice, avocado and ponzu. Plus a selection of seasonal salads, main courses and exciting desserts. Come evening, some larger sharing dishes will become available also, Chateaubriand with pica pau sauce and wild mushrooms. Sink into a gentle curved banquet in the main restaurant, surrounded by soft walls covered in natural fabrics, head upstairs to the snug bar for a secret rendezvous or book out the light and airy private dining room with its floral relief on the walls for a beautiful celebration dinner.
Get comfortable in 2025 with these new kicks closing out the Fall/Winter 2024 season for New Balance with fan-favourite 997 in the sleek and understated “Moonrock” colourway. When it debuted in 1990, the 997 was beloved immediately. When the original model was discontinued years later, it became legendary. The classic wedge-shaped silhouette, featuring a distinctive high set heel pad, is outfitted with leather, mesh, and hairy suede construction and features a neutral, moonrock and driftwood, colour palette. Paired with jeans or leggings, they’re a comfortable, cool way to get around town throughout the weekend.
As far as one essential goes that will take you throughout 2025, its perhaps the blazer. They are not only the hottest items to invest in right now, they are ultra-chic style that can be both relaxed and refined. Styled with jeans, wide-leg pants, a slip dress or silk skirt, its one piece that will work with quite literally anything. Statement-making, fitted or oversized, look to Anine Bing is a great option, perfectly oversized and light enough to wear over t-shirts and sweaters alike. Elsewhere, Joseph’s ‘Leandre’ blazer comes in a classic houndstooth and is sure to become a regular in your office rotation. Style it with a black tank top, the matching tailored pants and minimal accessories for a modern take on power dressing. Or look to expert women’s shirt makers With Nothing Underneath who have now launched their first blazer, named the Hutton, in homage to the inimitable Lauren Hutton – actress, model and enduring style icon – a classic wool blazer made in grey herringbone tweed made from 100% wool woven with a breathable, comfortable Italian cupro lining. With sharp, slightly padded shoulders, generous lapels and horn buttons, style it with a t-shirt or a flouncy shirt, jeans and chunky gold jewellery for a boho take on power dressing.
