We still have to entertain the kids, even in the grey weather. But you’ll be surprised at how much you can do to keep warm, cosy and thoroughly immersed in fun.
And if you’re as organised as we are, you’ll no doubt be planning ahead for the looming school holidays (read half term, Easter, half term again, summer). Add this must-visit Grecian paradise to your list (for you and your kids) with a steal of an offer. This is what we’re loving in our Citizen Enfant’s January hotlist.
Scott Dunn’s Explorers Kids Clubs are really what makes a family holiday, well, a holiday – for everyone involved. For those with very little children, entertaining mini globetrotters from as little as four months is not something you find in many kids’ clubs. Get ready to add Eagles Resort to your must-visit list this year. Greece has plenty of offerings, but none with as impressive a kids’ offering as this destination property, designed by Scott Dunn’s experts who have been perfected a seamless experience for flawless family holidays. Only available to Scott Dunn guests, the Eagles Resort Explorers Kids Club is being built entirely from scratch to ensure parents can enjoy guilt-free downtime. The property, based in Athos, is situated on the quietest and easternmost of Halkidiki’s three peninsulas, providing a relaxed and scenic setting on what’s essentially a private beach, with a gorgeous shelving beach out to waters where dolphins play (go out on the hotel boat and they’ll come swim in your wake). The resort presents a full range of accommodation types, from suites to villas. The brand new kids’ club only takes guests aged up to 11, and splits them into four age groups: the youngest guests (four months to four years) engage in sensory activities, eco hunts, splash time in shallow pools, and an introduction into the local area. Older groups get to visit the local farm to learn about the world around them, and enjoy the incredible water sports on offer in the Aegean Sea. Plus, with endless activities for the whole family including daily wellness and entertainment programmes, there’s no shortage of things to do. It’s no surprise that its gained such a loyal following.
A number of fashion brands are creating spin off mini versions. But now mini-me fashion is getting cosy with ADANOLA’s launch of MINI ICONS. The launch features a limited edition kidswear capsule of mini versions of ADANOLA’s classic silhouettes for children aged 2-4 years old with six styles, including sweatpants and knitted jumpers adorned with Adanola’s iconic logo. A favourite is the ADA Knit Hoodie, knitted from a premium yarn wool-blend. These easy to wear everyday staples are ideal to ket your kids run free (plus stylish and comfortable) this January while you can stay cosy with them.
Wellness is the key word for 2025. And perhaps for no-one as much as mums. Prioritising your health for you and your family is essential but finding the time to do so is often secondary. So, we are entering a new era for at-home workouts. Turn your home into a full pilates studio with new British brand FOLD Reformer. Just like a reformer you’d find in class, it comes with padded double loop straps, an adjustable head and shoulder rest, a four-level foot bar, and five resistance springs, so that you have the option to make exercises even more challenging, and easily folds in half so it can be tucked away somewhere when you’re done. It balances the sweet spot where stylish studio-quality meets uncompromising performance, with the perfect wellness solution for those looking to level up at home workouts. Already with a waitlist, it offers customers the chance to train with live and on-demand classes as well as get involved in the online wellness club. As you can imagine, it’s not cheap, but if you add up the cost of classes, not to mention the fact you’ll be able to use it anytime, its worth looking at the bigger picture. Plus, you can’t put a price on health, right?
Wizards and witches (or simply Harry Potter fans) will find themselves in paradise at The Wands and Wizards Exploratorium with five floors of enchantment. Tucked away in Soho’s Greek Street, you’ll find all sorts of entertainment from a unique wizard themed bar and activity space, to the Wizard Afternoon Tea, and an immersive experience that gives guests a chance to try their hand at potion making. You’ll of course be greeted by your “Potions Master”, who will take you to one of the upstairs rooms in the old building. You can design your own wand at the Magic Wand Experience, an interactive retail experience where you choose your own working, magic wand and bring it to life through the magic of science. Use it to unlock doors, cast spells, and make your way through the Wizard Exploratorium, featuring wooden floors, window displays, a mysterious underground stone vault, and secret miniature doors. A fascinating day out for the whole family.
Scalp care is just as important as the rest of your skin and bodycare routine. Anything from lack of hydration to over-washing, taking hot showers to skipping conditioner, and most definitely post-partum when hair loss is such a huge issue. It’s important to create a healthy scalp environment for hair to grow. WONDERBALM has a replenishing formulation which you can use with The Glow For It Scalp Massager, to absorb into your scalp while enriching the skin with vitamins and antioxidants. Ingredients including Olive Oil, Shea Butter, Candelilla Wax, Orange Peel Oil and Vegetable Oil moisturise, protect and promote a natural glow. Take a grape sized amount and exfoliant into the damp hair before shampoo and conditioner using the scalp massager. This will help to remove any debris, dirt and remaining hair products such as hairspray, hair serums and creams that you use in the day, plus its a massage for yourself that will likely be very needed.
Beat those January blues and treat the family to one of the shows in Little Lyric’s Spring season. Why not introduce the kids to fantastical worldbuilding, the art of puppetry, and beloved stories reimagined? Every Saturday from 18 January, you can join Mrs Frost and her Goose watch over the world below. When she bakes, the sun shines, when she does the laundry, it rains and when she shakes out her quilt, soft feathery snowflakes cover the earth in a blanket of snow. Or spend some time with The Littlest Yak Gertie, who has the curliest, whirliest wool and the grippiest of hooves for clipclopping up cliffs, who doesn’t want to be little, she just wants to grow up!
