Things To Do This February: What The CF Team Are Loving

Arguably one of the longest – and most ‘January’ Januarys ever – is over. Here’s how we are welcoming February.

We’re a step closer to spring, and with exciting trips, romantic dinners, products to try, pieces to shop, and lots to watch – this is what the Citizen Femme team’s calendar is filled with this February.

USE I’m all over this new brand I discovered stocked at KOIBIRD in Marylebone, Barrière Call of Beauty. These are mini patches (Vitamin D, Daily Defense, Travel Well, Biotin) that you wear for 8-12 hours and they deliver your vitamins efficiently. Very nifty and great to carry around for a pick-me-up. WEAR I’m staying cosy in this new purchase from Reformation, who doesn’t love cashmere? USE I’m really enjoying using 4.5.6 Skin’s Night Hack creams; they’re experts at producing creams for skin phototypes IV, V and VI, otherwise known as skin of colours, or melanin-rich skin. I’ve used it consistently over a few weeks and my skin looks fabulous in the morning, often meaning I’m not using any foundation during the day. DRINKS AT I’ve just discovered Soho Mews House so I’m going to sneak a little mocktail in one evening to check it out! EAT I love a casual pub lunch if I can ever get one in, so my next spot is The Hero in Maida Vale with Sunday favourites on the menu. TAKE A mini UK break to try The Nici in Bournemouth.

PLAN A girls’ weekend in Athens. I have friends visiting over Easter weekend (a very important weekend in the Greek calendar) so I need to plan ahead. Of course, the Acropolis will be on the itinerary – plus lunches, dinners, drinks and a big Easter Sunday lunch. BUY Some fun jewellery, and I love this charm necklace by Ilena Makri, as well as the Puffy Heart collection and square pearl earrings from MissomaLEARN More Arabic. The 21 February is International Mother Language Day and it’s giving me inspiration to move past my Duolingo learning to more formal lessons. NaTakallam (which means ‘we speak’ in Arabic) partners with native tutors from displaced backgrounds and I’m thinking of signing up. They also teach Armenian, Kurdish, Persian, Ukrainian and more. TRY I have a big birthday coming up this year so it’s probably time (overdue, even) for me to get serious about my skin. I’m intrigued by collagen supplements and have it on good authority (from Becki, CF’s wellness director) that Absolute Collagen is a good brand to try. READ I’ve just come across the book 92 Acharnon Street by John Lucas; the true story of the English author’s experiences during a year spent in Athens in the 1980s. As an English person living in the city myself, I’m curious to read about his time here, and to see how much the city has (or hasn’t) changed.

STAY At The Mandrake to experience the incredible new spa, Damu. It’s home to a unique multi-sensory hydrotherapy experience and a candlelit Mud Rasul that is a bit like a mud treatment-based hammam. I reviewed it (and other great London spa experiences) in my recent piece. WATCH Sistra perform at one of my favourite little pubs/music venues, The Lexington. The sister duo have a really interesting indie beat to their music and I love discovering new acts, like their support artists, at small events like this one. EAT At Rick Stein’s delicious seafood restaurant in Barnes. If you book during the day you get lovely views out over the Thames and it is the perfect place for big dinners with friends and family. PAMPER My family’s golden retriever with Omni’s plant-based dog food. We’ve already got her started on the supplements and it’s helped her stinky breath a lot when she tries to give us kisses! LISTEN To more books using the Audible subscription that I got for Christmas from my sister. It means I can ‘read’ while cycling or walking to work, as I’ve been struggling to get through the books on my bedside table recently.

STAY I’m starting February with a getaway to Soho Farmhouse with my sister. Pilates, facials and some time sans enfants to get our diaries out and plan lots of fun for our families together in 2025. SEE I can’t wait to see the new Cartier exhibition that arrives at the V&A this month and features tons of iconic jewellery and watches. But what I really want to know: is there a gift shop?! EAT I’m religiously sticking to the rule of eating 30 different plants a week as I really do find it makes me feel great. Quick wins are a ginger shot every morning plus milled flaxseed and crushed walnuts sprinkled over my breakfast. PLAY I’ve started playing padel regularly with friends. Much easier and quicker than tennis, it’s not hard to see why it’s the fastest growing sport in the UK. USE On a recent mooch around duty free at Terminal Five I spotted these cool holdalls from Harrods. Such a great carry-on bag. VISIT We are heading back to Lech for our annual family half-term ski holiday and I’m so looking forward to (hopefully!) sunny lunches on the terrace at Hotel Goldnerberg in Oberlech. After chasing my boys around the mountains all morning their apple strudel is just what I need!

STAY For the ultimate romantic foodie getaway Le Manoir Aux’Quat Saisons is a firm favourite of mine. Dining in Raymond Blanc’s two Michelin-star restaurant is an experience that you won’t forget; perfect for celebrating a special occasion – or for an extremely spoiling Valentine’s Day! BUY I’ve been wearing this heavy cashmere knit from COS on repeat. I bought the grey colourway but I’m already eyeing up the others… BEAUTY To help give my skin a boost of hydration, whether it’s for date night or an evening out with the girls, I rely on 111SKIN’s sheet masks – their new radiant set is a game changer. EAT I recently had lunch at The Bull in Charlbury while staying with my family in the Cotswolds and it totally lived up to the hype. A must if you’re staying in the area and love a pub with oodles of charm and exceptionally good grub. READ I’ll be taking notes from PR friend Emily Austen with her new book Smarter: 10 Lessons For A More Productive And Less-Stressed Life.

EAT I’m heading for a belated Chinese New Year celebratory feast at Hutong at the Shard, where they have a special menu until 9 February. Delicious crispy poussin with city skyline views – a February evening well spent. WEAR My new Sézane bag. I have searched high and low for the perfect day bag, one that feels polished but is also big enough to carry my laptop, and finally found it in the form of the Romie. I’m also a big fan of Rachel Jackson’s new Love collection, thoughtful and personal pieces that make great Valentine’s gifts for you or for a friend who deserves celebration. If you’re looking for responsibly sourced cashmere, I recently discovered Suffolk-based brand Jean & Temple – I’ve been wearing its featherlight camel jumper on repeat. SEE I’ll be glued to The White Lotus season three when it starts on 17 February. The costumes, the characters, the setting – what’s not to love? GO There’s two great exhibitions opening this month that I’m keen to see. The first is the National Portrait Gallery’s celebration of the influential portraits shot for cult magazine The Face. The second is the Tate Modern’s homage to the trailblazing performance artist-cum-fashion designer Leigh Bowery. VISIT We’re heading to the pretty seaside town of Whitstable for a friend’s birthday. I’m from Kent so no stranger to the county’s coastal towns, but there’s something about seeing them in the winter when it’s relatively free of crowds that I love. The Old Neptune (the Neppy to locals) on the seafront is the perfect pub for a cosy drink and fish and chips.

EAT At STK London for an unforgettable dining experience. Not only is the food great, but their outdoor terrace is perfect for a relaxed-yet-chic atmosphere, whether for a special night out or just a chill lunch. TRY Vanilla Vibes by Juliette Has a Gun, a smooth and coconutty scent. I am a total vanilla/gourmand girl, and this is my current favourite. It’s light, airy, and feels like a warm hug – perfect for everyday wear. USE By Rotation, my newfound pastime. I’ve started renting out some of my dresses on By Rotation and it’s been great. It’s a fun way to make sure my most-loved items get a second life. WATCH After being confused for the duration of season 1 of Apple TV’s dystopian sci-fi series Severance, I’m now absolutely hooked on season 2. If you love a psychological series that really makes you think, this might be for you. Without giving too much away, it’s about a team of office workers whose memories have been surgically divided between their work and personal lives. BOOKMARK Roll Boys recently came up on my TikTok and was an instant save for the next time I’m in Hackney. Their cinnamon rolls look to die for and would be the perfect treat to end a date night. The cookie butter roll is calling my name!

NEW DENIM A denim refresh is always fun. My forever favourites are Agolde; I love their 90s mid rise straight jeans. READ Butter by Asako Yuzuki. The cult Japanese bestseller is about a female gourmet cook (and serial killer) and the journalist intent on cracking her case. It’s inspired by a true story, translated by Polly Barton, and is as delicious as it sounds. SHOP Never have I seen a more ‘me’ jacket than the bow-detailed Douchesse Jacket by Giambattista Valli – and it comes with matching shorts. ACCESSORISE With the perfect no-nonsense belt I have been searching for just dropped on Rails. EAT This February, famed hotel Il Pellicano will bring some Italian charm to Claridge’s for a one-week residency. Running from 17 to 22 February, experience a fusion of flavours inspired by the Tuscan coast, within Claridge’s grand English glamour restaurant. Tuscany in London, yes please!

STAY I’m exploring Abu Dhabi for the first time this month, and am super excited to check in to Anantara’s iconic desert resort Qasr Al Sarab. EAT The Sunday roast at From The Ashes BBQ is getting rave reviews, including their Del Piero Doughnut, made with smoked pork, nduja and chilli jam. BUY I’ve got my eye on this brown leather tote from Arket to upgrade my work wardrobe. WATCH Now The Traitors is over, I can turn my attention to more action-packed adventures in season 2 of The Night Agent. BEAUTY I’ve been adding a healthy glow to my pale winter skin with a weekly spritz of Sunblush Hydrating Tanning Mist by James Read. BOOK Tickets to see DJ Purple Disco Machine’s just-announced London show at Exhibition White City on 14 March – dancing shoes at the ready!

WATCH I’m buzzing for the return of White Lotus season 3. As much as I love Jennifer Coolidge, I’m excited to see the hotel’s new guests starring Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Jason Isaacs and Parker Pose. Set in stunning Thailand, bring on another season of craziness, drama, intrigue and glamour! EAT On Valentine’s Day I’ll be dining with my gals at LAVO. Their Valentine’s set menu includes lobster salad, swordfish ragu and their spectacular 20-layer red velvet cake with cream cheese and raspberry sauce. This special menu will only be available from 13 to 16 Feb. PLAY Having failed my driving test three times, F1 Arcade is the next best thing and the only time I’m allowed behind the steering wheel. Channeling Lewis Hamilton, the world’s first fully immersive Formula 1 racing simulation experience in St. Pauls is a fun night out with pals. SHOP Cool streetwear merch from It’s Bagels in Soho, as seen on Megan Fahy. I have my eye on their NYK grey hoodie – and I might as well pick up a bagel (my favourite is The Works) whilst in their store. DRINK A few spicy margaritas with friends at the rooftop Bar at The Trafalgar St. James by Hilton Hotel. Situated in an oasis overlooking Trafalgar Square with views of London’s skyline.

STAY I’m starting February off the right way: seeking a change of scenery with a weekend in Copenhagen that I am very much looking forward to. I’m excited to stay at the newly opened Bella Grande hotel. All that’s left to book is an excellent sauna. I’m also feeling very grateful to have a trip to Brach Madrid (another new hotel) coming up, it’s designed by the incredible architect Philippe Starck. WATCH I went to see The Years at The Harold Pinter theatre over the weekend, and have since recommended it to all of my friends. Inspired by Nobel Prize winner Annie Ernaux’s novel of the same name (I’d also recommend this to READ), I loved watching how the “collective autobiography” was translated on stage. After a sold out run at the Almeida theatre last year, the production is back for 12 weeks only: buy tickets while you can. SHOP When it gets to this point in the winter, I tend to start feeling so tired of wearing my winter knitwear over and over again. I’m on the lookout for a new piece that will help transition my wardrobe into spring (wishfully thinking ahead) and I love the structure of the Aligne clay waisted cardigan as well as James Street’s curated knitwear edit. EAT February is for celebrating the girls too, and Sucre in Soho drips all the sweet-yet-sophisticated, modern-bistro style that a girls’ night deserves. The menu looks fun with a focus on ‘fire dining’ as dishes are cooked over a fireplace and wood oven. Helmed by chef Fernando Trocca, the flavours merge Argentinian cuisine with classic Mediterranean touches, via courses of sea bream served with aji amarillo and clementine, and celeriac risotto with winter chanterelles and smoked almonds.
