Hello February! Here, the Citizen Enfants team share what they are up to with their children this month and their plans for the for the half-term holiday.
This month brings the first half-term break of the year as we say goodbye to winter and look forward to spring. From Alpine holidays and the coolest ski kit for children, to family-friendly hotels in the sun and new ones opening closer to home, as well as plenty of recommendations for fun days out in the upcoming school holidays including theatre, cinema and even a Peppa Pig themed afternoon tea, here is all the inspiration you’ll need for a fantastic February with your children.

STAY For a mini mid Feb escape, I am going to try to get my daughter onto a pair of skis for the first time. We are heading to Falkensteiner Hotel Montafon (one of the Leading Hotels of the World), a great family property (with a spa for me), a full daily schedule of activities from baking to science to painting to movie night, plus plenty of mountain adventures. BOOK I’m a huge fan of Southbank on weekends and during the holidays so I’m booking for a handful of shows and activities they host during their Imagine Festival over half term week. RENT I’m renting kids snowsuits from EcoSki including the Roarsome Unicorn Sparkle Suit for our getaway. The little one will be so delighted to be dressed as a unicorn, I won’t have a problem getting her into it! TAKE A TOUR With two crazy Peppa pig fans in my house, I’ll be booking the Peppa Pig Bus Tour (short of going to Paulton’s Park for the real Peppa Pig event later in the year) TREAT YOURSELF TO This isn’t just for pregnancy, I tried the Dimple Amani pregnancy massage and buccal facial and I’ll be booking again this February (and most likely every month moving forward). WEAR I’m trying HatchCollection denim for the first time – the Crop Maternity Jean – so I hope they’ll become a comfortable staple. HOST Now in my third pregnancy, and meeting so many women who have experienced PND (Post Natal Depression), I am really thrilled that we are able to bring this topic to the surface again with The Soke in Wimbledon, who do such a brilliant job at providing healthcare and support in a very comfortable environment for women who have just had a baby.

SKI February is all about skiing for my family. This half-term heading back to Lech (my favourite resort). My older boys seem to be constantly growing so I’m investing in some cool teen kit for them from Dope and Napapijri. Perfect for that cool snowboarder aesthetic that teens love. I’ll be wearing my new fair isle from Varley which is much more my style! SEE There’s been a lot of excitement around the new Marvel movie Captain America: Brave New World that arrives in cinemas on the 14th so I’ll be taking my lot to see it for sure. VISIT My kids absolutely love the Universal Studios theme parks so they are already asking me if we can visit the new Epic Universe Park that opens this May. With exciting areas like How To Train Your Dragon Isle of Berk and Super Nintendo World, all packed with amazing rides, it does look like a very fun addition to any family holiday in Florida. WATCH Amandaland is the spin off from the hilarious BBC series of Motherland that starred Anna Maxwell-Martin. Starting this week, it looks to be a similarly entertaining taking on mum life so I’m looking forward to a good chuckle. STAY I’m very much looking forward to a little weekend away at the brand new Alfriston Hotel which opens next month. Part of the fantastic Signet Collection (I love the Retreat Elcot Park) this new spot on the South Downs is just a hop, skip and a jump from London, but set in the most gorgeous countryside with a spa and heated outdoor pool, gorgeous restaurant, plus super-cute family suites. I can’t wait! BOOK If you have tweens then you are bound to know about Minecraft, the online building game that so many kids of that age love. A new immersive and interactive Minecraft Experience is coming to London and tickets go live on February 14th. Demand is sure to be high so be sure to snap them up early.

VISIT We’re planning a trip to the Young V&A to see its Making Egypt exhibition which opens on February 15th. I think parts will be lost on the toddler, but he’ll enjoy looking at the masks and the more hands-on activities like drawing and touching some of the objects on show. The soft play zone there is always a hit too. BUY Uniqlo has the sweetest range of well-priced, pop art T-shirts for little ones, featuring prints by Warhol, Basquiat and Haring. I couldn’t resist the green Keith Haring style. EAT Pastaio is a favourite lunchspot for my son and I – great pasta and a relaxed atmosphere. It isn’t always easy to find family-friendly restaurants in central London, but this one is a winner. READ I really love the books by children’s author Jarvis. The illustrations and stories feel really original and imaginative. The Boy with Flowers in His Hair is read at least three times a day in our house, a very sweet story about friendship and being there for the people you love. BOOK We are taking our son on his first long-haul flight next month to New Orleans, so are already thinking of a few activities to keep him entertained. The alligator cruises on the Bayou is number one on our list!

STAY This month we’re checking in to Jumeirah Saadiyat Island in Abi Dhabi, famed for their incredible kids club. It looks like a great hotel with everything you could wish for when travelling with a little one. BUY Holidays call for new swimwear – for mum and their mini mes – and I’m loving this stripey number from Liewood for my daughter. VISIT RIBA are hosting RIBA Baby: Sensory Stories for 0 to threes and their carers on the 11th of February. Each session lasts 55 minutes and encourages creative learning through the different senses. There will be things to hear, touch, smell and see. So fun for tiny kids. RELAX My new Currentbody LED Light Therapy Mask is the perfect excuse to carve out 10 minutes child-free peace every day. BOOK Combining puppets and magic tricks Little Angel Theatre’s Miniature Travelling Circus looks like a super cute show for smalls aged two to five. EAT The Ivy Market Grill has a fab children’s menu offering smoothies, pasta dishes and more. A stylish spot for parents where kids are happy too: a win win!

EAT We love Friday night pizza with friends after football club. My favourite moment of the week. WEAR My girls are obsessed with Mermaids after watching The Little Mermaid and we now wear mermaid tails every bath time. DO See the Vogue Inventing The Runway exhibition at The Lightroom in King’s Cross. We had fun walking around Coal Drops Yard afterwards. SEE I took the girls to the National Portrait Gallery and we were inspired by all the incredible men and women throughout history. They also have lovely interactive activities for kids and programming throughout the year. PLAY We are all obsessed with Connectix Tiles, myself included. Hours of fun.
