We’ve got a hop in our step coming into Spring, have you?
Accompanied by these very cool everyday sneakers, a super dewy new foundation on the market, and a weekend trip to indulge in rosé after rosé (after rosé), the end of this month is looking less cloudy. This is what we’re loving in this week’s Citizen Femme hotlist.
The ‘It’ trainer continues to have its moment. The practical everyday sneaker, remains a staple and Gola, the iconic British brand introduces its latest women’s trainer collection for SS25. This season, Gola breathes new life into its classic silhouettes, reimagining them with bold hues, luxurious materials, and distinctive design updates. Favourites include the Torpedo, a heritage revival from Gola’s 1985 back catalogue, this style is a nod to classic training shoes. Its vintage charm is enhanced with a short toe, elongated lace facings, and a sleek wedge sole makes styling effortless with a nostalgic edge. Or the Viper Leather, originally launched in 1976, its popular for its effortlessly cool appeal, remaining an icon of understated chic.
A great meal is about more than just food — it’s about community and shared moments around the table. That’s why Wednesday’s Domaine is hosting its very first ‘Surplus Supper Club’ in partnership with Refettorio Felix, a community kitchen dedicated to serving vulnerable people in London. The Surplus Supper Club will feature an Italian-inspired, three-course menu crafted from surplus food donated by The Felix Project, with unlimited Wednesday’s Domaine alcohol-free wines. The evening will be an intimate dining experience inside Refettorio Felix’s beautifully restored hall, channelling an Italian theme. The menu will feature dishes like hearty gnocchi ragu and food that both fills the belly and feeds the soul, with the actual menu revealed on the night. Each dish will be paired with Wednesday’s Domaine’s delicious wines. Every ticket purchased for this supper club will directly support their work, helping to provide warm, nutritious meals in a safe and welcoming space.
In the second half of Jamie Lloyd’s season at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Tom Hiddleston (The Night Manager) and Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter, Black Mirror) star as Shakespeare’s bickering lovers Benedick and Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing. The show is fun even before it starts. You take your seat to disco-type lighting streaking around the auditorium accompanied by upbeat pop music surrounded by an excited audience. Staff holding the usual do’s and don’ts notices are dancing. It’s as if the audience has been invited to enter a nightclub, a place where anything might happen, where relationships may be formed and broken before love wins. Using this contemporary device, the more than four hundred years between Shakespeare’s time and now shrinks. Filled with love, deception and plenty of misunderstandings, it’s an exciting version of Shakespeare that must be seen.
Rosé is not just for summer. Where better to taste your way through a truly global range of rosés than overlooking the English Channel? This spring, Tom Fahey (one of the UK’s top sommeliers), will be hosting wine immersion courses at The Terrace Rooms & Wine in Ventnor, Isle of Wight, focused on expanding guests’ appreciation of rosé. You’ll taste pale rosés with tonnes of ripe fruit, dark, crimson rosés that are bone dry, aged rosés up to ten years old; rosés that are half red, naturally made rosés, and oaked rosés akin to pinot noir. A six-room seaside retreat for wine lovers, each with spectacular views across Ventnor bay, you can also enjoy a getaway to the boutique property with intimate wine pairing dinners every Friday with tasting-menu dinners created entirely out of local produce.
