Things To Do This March: What The CF Team Are Loving

Day trips to Paris, Easter in Marrakech, Mediterranean restaurants in London, and new run clubs: here’s how we are welcoming March.

We’re a step closer to spring, and with exciting trips, new places to eat, products to try, pieces to shop, and lots to watch – this is what the Citizen Femme team’s calendar is filled with this March.

VISIT Paris for a day trip with friends. We’ll be spending the day walking around Montmartre, lunching at Bar des Prés, and going for a drink at my favourite Hotel Costes. Also, a spot of shopping, bien sûr. EMBRACE Women’s Day and Women’s Month with our event at The Ivy Club in honour of our column The Female Gaze. Plus, I recently spoke on a panel at Sexy Fish Manchester in partnership with Boodles around Women in Business. EAT I am looking forward to revisiting Casa Cruz in Notting Hill, it used to be a favourite and I haven’t been back in a while. It has an indulgently romantic interior with just the right amount of neighbourhood charm. TREAT Me, my mum and sister to a massage and champagne afternoon tea at The Rosewood London for Mother’s Day. A classy afternoon! WATCHING Our editor Katie and some phenomenal tastemakers on an epic trip to Discover Puerto Rico, following their exciting journey on the gram.

VISIT Puerto Rico, on a global tastemakers trip hosted by Discover Puerto Rico and Citizen Femme. We’ll be exploring old San Juan, the artistic scene in Santurce and visiting a coffee farm in Ponce, among many other things. STAY En route to Puerto Rico, I’m stopping for a couple of days in New York, and staying at Pendry Manhattan West; it’s located right next to Hudson Yards in NYC, so I’ll be checking out The VesselSEE The funfair rides designed by Basquiat, Dalí, Hockney, Lichenstein (and more) for the 1987 Hamburg amusement park, Luna Luna. They’re on display at The Shed in New York until 16 March. EXPLORE The bioluminescent bay in Puerto Rico’s La Parguera – while I’m excited for the entire trip, this snorkelling experience looks really extraordinary. WATCH Lots of Netflix downloads on my flights to and from everywhere! I’m not sure exactly what, but will give Running Point starring Kate Hudson a try. Other recommendations welcome!

STAY At Hartwell House for a girls’ weekend of afternoon tea and spa-based pampering, with treatments from 111Skin and a dip in the generously-sized swimming pool. BUY My sister the new Augustinus Bader x La Bonne Brosse Scalp Brush so she stops stealing mine! Not that I blame her – it has made my hair super shiny since I started using it. REFRESH My skin (and reclaim my glow) as we approach the spring with Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park’s just-launched Remodelling Facial in partnership with Biologique Recherche. In fact, the hotel has a host of new wellness offerings I am eager to try, including a Tuesday evening run club! TOAST The women shaping the winemaking industry in 2025 and beyond (just in time for International Women’s Day) with Provencal restaurant Amélie’s celebratory three-course menu, paired with Charles Heidsieck champagne. RECOVER From a niggling knee injury with the signature Attuned Recharge treatment at Grey Wolfe. It combines all my wellness biohacking therapies in one experience, including time in the infra-red sauna, hyperbaric oxygen chamber and a massage to supercharge some much needed TLC.

STAY In Mauritius with my gang at the end of March. I’ve been many times before and it’s one of my favourites for a family beach holiday. This time we are staying at the newly refurbished Shangri La Le Tousserok which has so many great activities for kids. My boys will be diving, water-skiing and playing golf; I’m looking forward to a sun lounger and good book. DECORATE With beachy bits and pieces for my house in Devon recently. I love H&M’s new blue and white splatter stoneware collection. Some lovely pieces and very reasonably priced. I also stumbled across a new artist that I instantly loved called Felicity Souter. A couple of her stunning abstract artworks will be hanging in my hallway. BUY Spring accessories – it’s so nice shopping for the season again. I love a white bag when the sun comes out, so I recently bought this Dua tote from Gianni Chiarini. USE Vitamin C Revision Skincare serum. I’m also loving the new Westman Atelier Bronzing Drops for an instant summer glow. SEE Tom Hiddleston in Much Ado About Nothing before the run finishes at the beginning of next month. EAT At the brand new La Môme restaurant at The Berkeley, bringing a little of the French Riviera joie de vivre to London.

VISIT Spring is finally springing and what better place to spend a sunny day than at the haven that is Petersham Nurseries in Richmond. I visited recently and it never fails to knock my socks off. The shop is a treasure trove of vintage and interior goodies and the food in the restaurant is seriously good, with a menu full of seasonal and sustainable ingredients. BUY This oversized barn jacket from ASOS is set to be my go-to throw on as the weather starts to thaw out. BEAUTY I’ve just discovered Korean beauty brand Aestura Atobarrier 365 and I’m already obsessed with the entire range. The moisturising capsule cream strengthens a dehydrated skin barrier and forms a moisture shield for intensive moisturisation – exactly what my parched skin needs! DRINK Champagne is always my tipple of choice for celebrations (or just an indulgent weekend treat) and Pommery’s Brut Rose Royal is what I’ll be popping when I visit my sister in her new home in Winchester this month. SHOP Everything from Massimo Dutti. My virtual shopping basket is full of really great slouchy tailoring and separates that I know I’ll be reaching for on repeat.

EAT I recently visited Wildflowers in Pimlico, and I already can’t wait to go back. It has everything going for it – a Mediterranean-inspired menu with the most delicious mussels I’ve had in recent memory, the sort of staff that are so likeable you’d like to go for a drink with them afterwards, and a beautiful, light-filled setting in a former timber yard that has a real indoor-outdoor feel. WEAR I’ve been looking for a great pair of spring jeans and have finally found them in 7 For Mankind’s Lotta Nevada. The cropped length is perfect for warmer days that I am manifesting hard for. SEE As someone obsessed by Sicily, I’m really looking forward to Netflix’s six-part adaptation of the classic film The Leopard, out on 5 March. It’s set on the island in the 1860s, and promises plenty of opulence, romance and drama. GO I’m taking my mum to see Mamma Mia The Party at the O2 this month. She is a huge ABBA fan (who isn’t at heart?), and I am looking forward to being in a makeshift Greek taverna and listening to smile-inducing music all evening. VISIT My husband, son and I are travelling to New Orleans on our honeymoon this month. I’m so excited for all of it – the food, the music, the art. Our list of musts include a bayou tour for the toddler, Music Box Village for us all and Indian Super Sunday – a buzzing day carnival celebrating Mardi Gras’ Indian tribes.

STAY I recently spent a few days in Marrakech on a last-minute trip with my boyfriend and stayed at Longue Vie Hotel. The rooftop bar was gorgeous, and had great food and drink options. SHOP My mum has been asking for a new bag forever, so I’ll be searching for the right one from our Style Director’s edit of brown suede bags. I think she’ll love this Pillow Hobo from Little Liffner. WATCH Paradise on Disney+. This show has had me hooked on every episode for the last few weeks, and I’m honestly sad it’s over. It kicks off with the murder of the President (no spoilers beyond that), and the twists just keep coming. Season 2 has been confirmed – so if you haven’t started yet, now’s the time to catch up. TRY My hyperpigmentation has been clearing up (thank you SPF), but there are still a few stubborn spots. As a Black girl, finding skincare that actually works for melanin-rich skin isn’t always easy – but I think I’ve finally found something promising. I’m excited to try Hue’s Supra Fade – promising even skin in as little as two weeks – and see if it lives up to the hype. TRY A Sound Bath at Re:Mind Studio in Belgravia. If you’re still in your winter hibernation mode, a guided meditation and sound bath might be the perfect way to reset. It’s a great way to de-stress before the new season kicks in.

LISTEN To NET-A-PORTER’s Incredible Women podcast; every listen means £1 donated to the valuable work of UN Women UK.  BUY Summer is on my mind and I fell in love with this Liberowe dress the moment I saw it. TRAVEL To Marrakesh with my family for Easter, we’re staying at the Four Seasons Marrakesh and I can’t wait. DREAM About this ball and chain pendant set from Jessica McCormack, which feels so polished yet so cool. I visited their beautiful townhouse on Carlos Place and immediately added this to my wish list.  EAT Has anyone else discovered Biscoff spread? I discovered it on Pancake Day and loved it so much. It is officially dangerous to keep in the house…

CELEBRATE My mum’s birthday this month! We’ve got lots planned with family and friends, which mostly involves dining at her favourite restaurants, like Kaia at The Ned. WATCH Laugh out loud and binge watch the hilariously funny and satirical Amandaland on BBC iPlayer. A spin-off from the equally funny Motherland starring Lucy Punch as Amanda, sees her relocate – and downsize – to South Harlesden (aka SOHA) with her two teenage children, and start her own social media brand. It’s a must watch. EAT The new Weekday Set Lunch menu at Park Chinois offers their classic dishes in lighter lunchtime portions Monday to Friday. With a choice of two starters (my favourites being the Har Gau and salt pepper squid) and a main (I recommend the sweet and sour king prawns), it’s the perfect express lunch menu. LISTEN I currently have Messy by British singer/songwriter Lola Young on repeat. I’m so excited to be going to her gig this month at the O2 Kentish Town. DRINK At ABar Rooftop with panoramic city views, perched atop Mandarin Oriental Mayfair.

VISIT The Other Art Fair running from 6th to 9th March at the Truman Brewery. This touring fair hits London twice a year, and is a wonderful way to champion independent and alternative artists – something the art industry as a whole can learn from. Spotlighting over 170 independent artists including immersive installations, performances, and DJs, stop by to discover exciting new talent. WATCH Following The Oscars award ceremony, I am keen to watch (well, re-watch) the Brazilian film I’m still here. The film won the Academy Award for the Best International Film which was very well deserved, although I believe it should have won a lot more. It follows Eunice Paiva’s searcs to find her husband who vanishes under the Brazilian dictatorship in the 1970s. Wear waterproof mascara. EAT Sticks’n’Sushi is a London favourite for a reason: it’s always a fun vibe, and who doesn’t love sushi? I’m booking the new All You Can Sip menu in the Shoreditch branch complete with DJ sets for the next birthday in our friendship group. READ Dream Count by Chimamamanda Ngozi Adichie, the award-winning author behind Americanah, Half of a Yellow Sun, Purple Hibiscus, and more. It was released this week and follows the lives of four women during the pandemic. SHOP I rarely play into my British heritage via style, however the Erdem x Barbour collaboration is too good to miss out on. I’m a big fan of the Trapeze Jacket, which gets bonus points for being reversible too.
