The Selfridges Car Boot Sale Is Back (And It's Like No Other)

Alex Eagle and Selfridges are joining forces to host a luxury car boot sale that you won’t want to miss.

On Saturday 17 May, the creative director will stage the next annual charity shopping event and it’s expected to be bigger than ever before. This year promises wardrobe donations from some of the country’s most stylish, including Sophie Turner, Dame Helen Mirren, Charlotte Tilbury and Vogue’s Sarah Harris, as well as some of our favourite fashion brands spanning Rixo, Hunza G and Jimmy Choo. A mix of fashion, accessories and beauty will all be up for rifling through from various car boots in Selfridges car park.

As if the idea of browsing pre-loved pieces from the great and good of the fashion world wasn’t enough of a pull, proceeds go to a very good cause. Since its inception in 2016, the sale has raised an impressive £1.8 million for women living in conflict zones through Women for Women International.

“Each year the car boot sale gets bigger and better,” says Alex Eagle, the event’s driving force. “We’ve been incredibly lucky to be supported by fabulously generous brands, stylists, and friends over the past nine years.

“It’s an incredible sisterhood of women coming together to raise money for the women that need our support the most – women survivors of war,” she adds. “This year we have so many people joining us from Jimmy Choo to Hunza G, Sarah Harris and Matilda Goad and so many designers and stylists who are emptying their wardrobes for such a good cause. I just want it to keep on growing!”

Tickets, which start at £10, are already proving popular – the early bird option has already sold out, so make a beeline now. We’ll see you there.
