Escape The Crowds: The Peloponnese & Halkidiki, Greece

It probably won’t surprise you that Greece is on this list. There’s something about the balmy vibe, water-side villages, and vibrant blues of this Southern European country that draws us in every year, and 2025 is no different. However, as much as we love the usual Greek island culprits of Santorini, Mykonos and Kefalonia, there’s something deeply appealing about enjoying a part of Greece that’s lesser known amongst the crowds. Enter, the Peloponnese to the west of Athens. Home to a rustic coastline of jagged cliffs scattered with ancient forts and monuments, as well as remote villages and that ever-so-tempting blue water that makes the Mediterranean so appealing, the region is packed with charm. Start in Athens with a tailor-made itinerary by Scott Dunn’s excellent team, who will help you indulge in Ancient Greek history and explore Athens’ luxury side with great restaurants and hotels. Once you have enjoyed your culture fix, flock to an excellent resort to unwind under the sun. For right-on-the-beach vibes try W Costa Navarino, or Amanzoe overlooking Porto Heli for sweeping vistas across the coast.

For Indian Ocean R&R: Mauritius

It might be Hawaii or the Maldives that first spring to mind when we evoke a dreamlike escape of translucent water lapping against white shores, lined with palm trees and sun loungers, and where cocktails are served on demand. Time to add Mauritius to that list too, especially over the summer months which are the island’s dry, cool season – and when Mauritius looks its best. For R&R, try Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort and enjoy the 300-square-metre space complete with saunas, hammams, relaxation areas, and a vitality pool. Also, the experts said it first: Mauritius is particularly popular as a combined trip with an African safari (while you’re in the region, why not?) so get in touch with the team to curate your dream itinerary.

A Cooler Summer: Western Norway

Not everyone is chasing hot climes this summer: travel to cooler destinations (to escape the summer heat) is a rising trend. Sometimes, nothing is less appealing than trying to peer past floods of tourists – in 40 degree heat – who have all had the same idea to visit a popular monument in a Southern European city. Go cooler – in both senses of the word – with a unique trip to Western Norway, where calm dips in the fjords and exploring the Arctic circle is what your summer adventure could consist of. Scott Dunn offer a special variety of tour ideas – each available to tailor to your own liking – that blend exploring the beautiful seaside town of Alesund with mountain hiking and roaming through the West Coast Fjords. Amp up the scenic routes by hopping between incredible hotels: Alesund offers boutique hotel Brosundat, right on the water for a tranquil vibe. For a fjord-side stay, Storjord Hotel offers panoramic views over some of Norway’s most staggering scenery and Union Oye Hotel boasts 27 uniquely designed rooms amidst a jagged mountain backdrop.

Dare To Explore: Peru's Amazon

The Amazon, the world’s largest river, and the Amazon rainforest are something of myths, having informed fictional stories and adventures for a long, long time. Embrace this sense of adventure with a trip you will never forget and explore this terrain from the heart of it all – with a boat trip down the river. Scott Dunn has plenty of options to peruse, complete with first-class service and luxury accommodation. Then, hop over into the depths of the jungle and get to know the flora and fauna that covers over 60 per cent of Peru with a stay at an eco-lodge, like Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica. Here, you’ll be treated to treetop views and private bungalow-style suites.

For Fresh Air: British Columbia

British Columbia’s natural scenery is unmatched; staggering mountains loom over lakeside forests and warm-lit lodges. There is so much of the outdoor world to explore here, and the temperate climate means that summer is still a pleasant time to do so. For a touch of old-school luxury, stop by the Rosewood Hotel Georgia in Vancouver before heading off for the outdoors. Avid horse riders, or those just keen to try, should head over to Tweedsmuir Park Lodge for a horseback tour, or Echo Valley Ranch & Spa to experience Canada’s “cowboy country”. There’s lots of coastline to explore too: British Columbia is the place where you can spot impressive land and ocean mammals – from wild mountain bears to orcas – all in one trip. It’s hard to beat.

Water Wildlife: Botswana

The Okavango Delta is home to an impressive display of water-loving wildlife, from hippos and buffalos to crocodiles and birds. Summer is an especially good time to see it all, as the water levels remain high after the area’s rainy season, but the weather has dried up enough for you to be able to enjoy it. From brand-new camps in the Delta, to canvas tents built on stilts, the variety of accommodation is impressive here. Allow Scott Dunn to help you pick the best fit for your interests, and craft an itinerary of wildlife-spotting and unforgettable scenery.
