Top Tables: The London Restaurants To Book In June 2025

We don’t need much of a reason to enjoy ourselves when the sun’s shining over the city, but June is still giving us plenty. These are the London restaurants to book in June 2025.

As the city buzzes with sunny-day energy and balmy sunsets, there’s no better time to dive into London’s dining scene.

From seafood feasts and icy martinis to French-inspired hideaways and Italian terrace takeovers, it’s the season of indulgence, long lunches, golden hours – and new openings with some serious summer attitude. Whether you’re planning pre-holiday catch-ups, rooftop rendezvous or just in it for the (many!) oysters and martinis, these are the tables on our hot list for June.

Noisy Oyster: Seafood With Attitude

You’d have to be seriously out of the loop to miss that martinis are having a moment. This month, National Martini Day falls on 19th June and just one day later Noisy Oyster, a slick new seafood bistro from the team behind Firebird, opens in Shoreditch with a sharp, minimal aesthetic and a menu built around martinis and modern seafood. Chef Alfie Bahnan (ex-Trullo) has created a playful menu: expect scallop crudo with pickled raspberry and basil oil, monkfish skewers, skate schnitzel and caviar topped soft serve. Mini martinis are the star of the drinks menu, try the Pink Oyster (gin and pink vermouth) or the smoky Agave (mezcal and sherry). Cool, confident, and just the right amount of cheeky, Noisy Oyster – which also has an outdoor terrace ready for summer – is made for seafood lovers with a side of sass.

Lupa: Theo James Brings Roman Soul Food to Highbury

From Hollywood to Highbury: actor Theo James (yes, that Theo James, star of The Gentlemen) and Carousel co-founder Ed Templeton are the duo behind Lupa, a new neighbourhood osteria opening this June. Joining them is head chef Naz Hassan (ex-Pidgin, Clipstone, BiBi), bringing a decade of experience to this intimate 28-cover space, dedicated to Roman soul food with a London accent. The menu blends laidback trattoria favourites with a British flair, starting with crowd-pleasing antipasti, like burrata-stuffed courgette flowers and mozzarella-filled supplì. Expect Roman pasta classics like rich carbonara and cacio e pepe, hearty secondi dishes, plus comforting and classic Italian desserts. Weekends will also feature specials including porchetta sandwiches to-go on Arsenal match days. Whether you’re in it for a long lunch or a laidback supper, this Highbury newcomer promises to be a neighbourhood favourite.

Island, Kings Cross: Surf & Turf From Brad Carter And Tom Brown

Stellar British chefs Brad Carter and Tom Brown (Pearly Queen) have opened a new joint venture in the Chandelier Room at Mare Street Market Kings Cross offering a slice of seaside-inspired escapism, though the crowds won’t be far behind. Inspired by the duo’s shared memories of years of cooking together around the world, Island is their take on the modern surf and turf bistro, championing the produce of the British Isles. Tom, known for his seafood-led cooking, will focus on fish and shellfish from small, direct fishing operations, while Brad is championing rare breed meats with his nose-to-tail ethos. The décor eludes seaside charm, with a private cocktail lounge also tucked upstairs. Expect caviar crisps, monkfish cheek ham, oyster ice cream sandwiches and fishbowl cocktails for the table. Equal parts serious cooking and cheeky nostalgia, Island is the perfect way to kick off British summertime.

Origin City: Promises A Shucking Good Time In Smithfields

For seafood fans who also want to learn more about what they are eating, Origin City is launching a new oyster tasting experience. Every week, the family-run Farringdon restaurant is shucking and serving a rotating line-up of oysters sourced directly from Loch Fyne’s aqua farms in Argyll. Each plate comes with tasting notes, making it perfect for both seasoned oyster lovers and curious first-timers. Priced at £2 each or £21 for a dozen, the oysters, which are available while stocks last, come with a choice of dressings. If you decide to then stay on for the evening, you can sample new seasonal dishes sourced from the family’s own 600-acre Scottish farm. Highlights include ‘crab and chips’ and braised beef neck served with shallot puree, crispy potato, heritage carrot, white pudding and truffle jus. Finish strong with an Eton mess or nostalgic lemon sherbet.

Chicken Shop x Gareth Ward: Michelin Chicken In Soho

We don’t usually recommend fried chicken joints, but this one’s special. On 21st June, cult favourite, Chicken Shop, founded by Carl Clarke, joins forces with two Michelin-Starred chef Gareth Ward of Ynyshir for a one-day-only collaboration in Soho. Gareth is known for his ferocious open-fire cooking, aged meats, and bold flavours. Now he brings his Michelin-starred edge, combining Ynyshir’s Singapore-style chilli crab, with Chicken Shop’s signature fried chicken, to create The Singapore Chilli Crab Chicken Burger. A riot of flavour, the burger is loaded with chilli crab oil, ketchup, kewpie mayo, pickles and Japanese seven spice – rich, messy and outrageously good. Only 500 burgers will be available, this is a Michelin-grade street food drop that won’t happen again. Get in line early.

La Terrasse By Grey Goose At Rosewood London: Riviera Style On The Rosewood Terrace

Set in Rosewood London’s Belle Époque courtyard, La Terrasse by Grey Goose channels the joie de vivre of a summer on the French Riviera. Open all season long, the space is styled with parasols, flowing linens and French garden-inspired seating – a calm, chic retreat just moments from bustling Holborn. The menu, crafted by executive chef Fernando Corona and Holborn Dining Room’s Ilona Perczyk, keeps things fresh and unfussy, think moules marinières, sole meunière, and a knockout Paris-Brest with caramel praliné. All seafood is locally sourced and caught daily. Cocktails, naturally, are a standout, featuring crisp Grey Goose martinis and floral spritzes: L’Instant Glacé is the one to order on a hot day – shaved ice and seasonal fruit spiked with vodka. It’s elegant, effortless, and made for long summer lunches.

Marceline, Wood Wharf: French Flair By The Water

Keeping with the French theme, located in one of the floating pavilions in Wood Wharf is Marceline, inspired by the brasseries of Paris with a playful hint of New York sass. Already making waves, this summer sees the launch of two fresh draws: a sleek new wine bar and a sun-drenched al fresco terrace. The wine bar will introduce a new weekly line-up of pleasures including Vintage Wine Mondays with rare pours by the glass, Oyster Happy Hour every Tuesday, and a Champagne trolley making the rounds each Friday at 5pm. Outside, the terrace is made for oysters, aperitifs, and unhurried lunches that turn into dinner. The wine list blends classic French bottles with lighter sips, whilst indulgent dishes include cheese soufflé, charcuterie boards and lobster rolls. On our list for some summer sipping.

Lina Stores, Canary Wharf: Pasta And Cocktails In The City

Canary Wharf is carving out a reputation as a culinary hotspot and, this month, established London favourite Lina Stores brings its signature pasta dishes to the neighbourhood, opening its most ambitious site yet. There’s a 100-cover restaurant upstairs and an all-day delicatessen serving focaccia sandwiches, salad boxes, and cannoli to go. But Bar Lina is the standout addition, with deep red interiors and a glowing onyx bar, it’s designed for aperitivo hour and beyond, serving classic Italian cocktails and bold reinventions by head bartender Matteo Pesce. Seductive cocktails and delicious carbs, what more do you need after a busy day at the office?

Ekstedt At The Yard: Midsommar In Westminster

Continuing our tour of Europe, for one special weekend in June you can celebrate the summer solstice Scandi-style at Ekstedt at The Yard, the Westminster restaurant from Michelin-starred chef Niklas Ekstedt. On Friday 20 and Saturday 21 June, the team are hosting a joyful Midsommar feast, complete with flower crown-making, open-fire cooking and plenty of Nordic flair. Guests are greeted with a Pomelle Spritz before crafting their own traditional Swedish crown, followed by a five-course dinner led by head chef Luca Mastrantoni. Expect trout with smoked cream, traditional Köttbullar, and desserts of clotted cream gelato with strawberries and shortcrust pastry. The experience closes (as all great Swedish dinners do) with a shot of Nuet Aquavit.

Barbican Bar & Grill By Searcys: An Oasis In The City

As the City begins to heat up, the new summer terrace by Barbican Bar & Grill by Searcys offers a calm, green oasis above the concrete. Perched on Level 1 of the Barbican Centre and framed by its iconic brutalist architecture, this al fresco space offers elevated, waterside views, and a sun-drenched, south-facing vantage point to soak up some summer sunshine. The summer menu showcases seasonal British produce such as smoked chicken and roasted peach salad, or a BBG Burger with all the fixings, while the cocktail list takes its cue from the garden surrounds. Quo Vadis & Friends: Wine Not?

Quo Vadis & Friends returns this June, kicking off with a stellar lineup of some-of London’s most beloved wine bars, as 40 Maltby Street, Cadet, Camille, and Planque come together for the first time under one roof with the talent behind the establishments – Steve Williams, George Jephson and Mike Murphy, Elliot Hashtroudi and Seb Myers – each taking charge of a course and a wine pairing from their own cellars. On the night, expect Camille to open with an elegant bite, Cadet on primi, 40 Maltby Street handling the main event, and Planque finishing with pudding. All dishes will be served family-style in Quo Vadis’ upstairs dining rooms. At the helm is Jeremy Lee MBE, a Soho institution in his own right, now celebrating nine years of the Quo Vadis & Friends series. With a warm and generous spirit (and always good wine), these regular suppers are a popular fixture of the London dining calendar.

Too Many Critics At Roe: Food Writers Take The Heat

And finally, something a little different. On 16 June, the annual Too Many Critics charity dinner returns, this year hosted at Roe in Canary Wharf. A who’s who of food media, including Leonie Cooper, David Ellis and Molly Codyre, who will trade their pens for pans as they step into the kitchen to cook a five-course meal for guests and a panel of professional chef judges (including Ashley Palmer-Watts, Shaun Searley and Gizzi Erskine), all in aid of Action Against Hunger.
