It might be monsoon season in southwest India, but the tastes of the region are being served up in the London sunshine at Trishna. The one-Michelin starred restaurant in Marylebone recently launched a new set menu spotlighting the tastes of the country’s coastal-adjacent Western Ghats mountain range: bydagi chilli blended into a wild mushroom biryani; pepper in the chicken chop ghee roast; and coconut chutney in the beef short rib coconut fry, a nod to the region’s Syrian (beef-eating) community. On the menu’s limited-edition cocktail list, spices from Diaspora Spice Co. – grown on family farms across India and Sri Lanka – take centre stage, like the chilli powder grown in Andhra Pradesh and mixed into the Konkan Cooler. Available until 31 August 2025 as two, three or four courses and served over lunch or early evening (12-2.30pm and 5-6.15pm), the restaurant’s terrace is the ideal place to enjoy it on a sunny day.
