Finding the perfect swimwear is a testing experience at the best of times, but for those of us with a larger bust it’s doubly hard.
Whether you’re plus-size, or just simply need a larger bra cup, sourcing a great one-piece or bikini isn’t easy. Up until recently, women over a D cup had little options – you chose between matronly or vintage pin-up. Oddly, that selection didn’t appeal to a lot of us, and so recently there has been a spate of brands who have decided to bridge that gap. We have rounded up our favourites; the labels that not only offer comfort and support, but also pieces we really, really want to wear.
We’ll see you on the beach.
MONDAY SWIMWEAR
Since launching in 2014, Natasha Oakley and Devin Brugman’s swim brand has become famed for great fit, fuss-free design and resilient fabrics. The design and approval process is intensive to ensure each piece meets the founders’ high standards. The collection caters to women up to an E/F cup, and tops are fitted to every cup size and manufactured accordingly, rather than simply being scaled up from a size S, which is still sadly common. Adjustable straps and ties are also a brand signature, meaning that each piece can be altered to fit different shapes.

TONA THE LABEL
Tona was set up by former stylist Tona Stell with inclusivity in mind and with the aim of supporting every curve. Underwired bikini tops range from 32DD to 38G and all other pieces are size UK 8-20. Whether you’re looking for a low-key style or a statement-grabbing printed look, this sustainable brand has you covered. Its super comfortable, organic cotton towelling fabric is bespoke, proving its planet-friendly credentials.

ANDIE SWIM
Well-cut, well-made swimwear is Andie’s MO. These are pieces you can really move in, that won’t sag, tug or pull. Its sizing goes up to size 24, and all designs come with adjustable straps. The brand’s streamlined Maui top – a cross between a sports bra and a crop top – has become cult-worthy, loved for its supportive fit and flattering cut. Similarly to Monday Swimwear, each design is refitted based on the individual size to ensure the pieces lay perfectly on the body.

FORM AND FOLD
Australian duo Carly Worson and Stephanie Korn spent three years working with expert technicians to find perfect swimwear styles for D+ women before they launched their label. Each Form and Fold style is sampled 20 times during the production stage to ensure a flawless fit. For this brand, it really is all in the detail – plunge or one-shoulder swimsuits with hidden underwire, or non-padded, powermesh cups for added support and shape.

HUNZA G
Georgiana Huddart’s cult label changed the swimwear game with its one-size-fits-all ethos. Its flattering crinkled fabric is now ubiquitous, but its cut is still hard to replicate. Its one-pieces and bralette bikinis are particularly great for larger busts – the wide straps provide added support and the style offers extra coverage. If you want to show off your curves, then the plunging Nadine is a strong option.

M&S
Few brands are as trusted as M&S, which is a superpower when it comes to swimwear. Quality, budget and practicality have always keen key for M&S, but its reinvigorated design team has recently made the brand a fashion editor favourite. Not only does its own line go up to a G cup, but the high-street stalwart also offers a number of other brands that cater to women with larger busts, including Pour Moi, Fantasie and Freya.

AWAY THAT DAY
London-based label Away That Day is known for its eco-friendly, inclusive swimwear that looks as good as it sounds. Nearly all collections are made with Econyl® fiber, a material that uses recycled ocean plastics, nylon scraps, and ghost fishing nets. Each piece is sold individually, allowing better fit, and cup sizes go up to a G. Longevity is also key – you won’t find anything here that will date or lose its allure. We also love its sarongs, a welcome addition to any beach holiday.
