Looking for things to do with children this July? This is what the Citizen Enfants team are loving this month.
School is out for summer and we’re looking forward to long, sunny, homework-free days. But the school holidays also mean week after week of time to fill too; these are some of the ways the Citizen Enfants mums will be entertaining their kids this summer.
Including fun and cultural days out, family-friendly hotels in the UK and Europe, cinema and theatre, galleries and exhibitions, sports classes, plus beach-worthy towelling, clothing and toys – this is all the inspiration you’ll need for a fantastic July with children.

BOOK Several day trips. With a newborn in tow, I won’t be travelling abroad for another few weeks, so Legoland, Chessington and Hobbledown Heath are all on my day-trip list for fun with the kids. SEE As a forever fan of taking my kids to the theatre, July is packed with tickets to Transport Explorers, CoComelon: Sing-A-Long LIVE, The Smeds and The Smoos (who doesn’t love Julia Donaldson?!) and Matilda. HAVE FUN AT The Peppa Pig store in Battersea; they’ve just launched the Party Package so my daughter and her friends are going to have a mini-celebration to kick off summer. A meet and greet with Peppa, games and plenty of fun. WEAR I’ve discovered Igor shoes for kids, which are not only very comfortable but ideal for splash parks, fountains and sandpits. TREAT MYSELF TO Massages, which I think should be an essential not a luxury for mums. Melbourne-born Shape House is now in London and offers lymphatic treatments to detox, sculpt and define the body and face. Massage techniques, wood tools and cupping for a healthy lymphatic flow, it really is everything.

SEE The new Jurassic World Rebirth movie comes out this month so I’ll be heading to the cinema with my boys. They’ve loved every one of the films and can’t wait to see this one. DO I’m not sure I’m really MI6 material, but I’m taking my kids and their friends to the new Spyscape immersive experience where they can try out their spy skills with a range of interactive games and activities. A great summer-holiday day out with teens. BUY Stylish beach kit from Sunny Life, who do the coolest inflatable toys as well as fun games. VISIT We will be spending a couple of days at the Watergate Bay Hotel this summer and I’m looking forward to lunches overlooking the waves at the Beach Hut, which also has a great kids’ menu.

STAY After a recent trip to Coworth Park, I’m desperate to go back with our little one. There were so many families checking in with young kids, and I can totally see why. The meadows and grounds are perfect for exploring, the equestrian centre invite you in for cuddling sessions with their gentle ponies, and the kids’ club is a mecca for all ages. Little ones can dive into dressing-up boxes, toys, and enchanting books, while older adventurers can head to the teen den packed with consoles, air hockey, and table football. EAT Gail’s is always a go-to for a quick lunch or baked goods on-the-go and the summer menu is filled with loads of new treats for all the family – including my namesake sandwich, the Pastrami Rachel. BUY My nieces are suddenly into their skincare and so with this in mind I bought them whipped shower foam from Sundae. Really cute packaging in fun (almost edible) scents from birthday cake to coconut cream – perfect for teens. SHOP The August People recently popped up on my Instagram as a really sweet kidswear brand to know for fun prints in easy, throw on styles. I have my eye on this sardine sweater for my toddler for cooler summer evenings paired with linen shorts. BOOK I’m headed to Sani Resort in Halkidiki for the first time this month and I’m so excited to see if it lives up to the hype – we have friends that return year-after-year. We’ll be there at the same time as Sani Gourmet, and are lucky enough to have a booking to enjoy Yannick Alléno’s one-night pop-up at Elia Restaurant while we’re there. With 17 Michelin stars to his name – including one at his London outpost Pavyllon London in Four Season Hotel at Park Lane – I’ve no doubt it’s going to be a culinary experience to remember.

PLAY Football, at these classes for younger players, which help them to learn skills plus how to grow in confidence and be a team player. TRY My clever friend has launched a company called Untold Mould, a new home testing kit that measures air quality. Their mission is to help you detect, discover and make informed decisions about the air you breathe. SEE I’m taking my girls to the amazing new immersive Jurassic World Experience. Apparently the closest you will come to seeing living dinosaurs! I cannot wait to experience this cool dino moment at Battersea Power Station. CREATE We love this innovative art experience in the heart of London; little ones can get seriously messy doing this – and splatter paint everywhere. WEAR The summer collections from Amaia are always perfect, divine dresses that are playful but elegant and really capture Spanish style.

DO My toddler and I are regulars at the Tate Modern (the Turbine Hall is a vast place for him to run around while inadvertently absorbing surrounding art), so we’re keen to see the new immersive Uniqlo Tate Play installation by British artist Monster Chetwynd. Designed to harness the imagination, Thunder, Crackle and Magic encourages children to create their own theatre. BOOK The team behind The Gruffalo, Zog, and Stick Man are bringing Julia Donaldson’s book The Baddies to the stage in August at Cadogan Hall, Chelsea. It’ll be out first trip to the theatre, so wish us luck. WEAR As my son and I continue on our tour of south London’s best splash parks, we have invested in H&M’s crocodile poncho towel to make getting out of the water less challenging. It’s also available in lion, giraffe and flamingo versions. BUY I love Uniqlo’s new Studio Ghibli kids collaboration. As a fan of these beautiful, imaginative Japanese films, I have snapped up two of the T-shirts for Lenny already.
