What is the first trip you remember taking?

My mother taking me on safari in Africa. To see a totally different culture, as well as all the wildlife, was such an incredible experience to have at a young age. We stayed at a Singita Lodge and I’m dying to go back again now as an adult.

What’s been your most memorable trip and why?

I went to Egypt last year, which is somewhere I had always wanted to go. We travelled between Luxor and Cairo and stayed on a beautiful traditional boat on the Nile, saw so much history, had a party with local musicians. It was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of trip.

Where or what is your escape?

Swimming in the sea. I’m not fussy either, warm, cold, sand beach, shingle beach… I just love being in the water.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve taken from your travels?

To really be in the moment as much as possible so you get to experience where you are. Being able to travel is such a luxury for so many reasons, and when I’m somewhere new I try to take as much of it in as I can without thinking about the distractions of my daily life. You’re on holiday, put your phone down.

If you could go anywhere tomorrow you’d go to:

La Colombe d’Or for the art and the soufflé.

How would you spend your ideal afternoon in your home city?

I’ve lived in London my whole life and I love it endlessly. There’s nothing better than walking around the city and seeing where the day takes you. I often walk from where I live through Hyde Park, into Soho and beyond, and you always end up running into people you know, seeing new things, and finding new places to go.

What’s your idea of a luxury holiday?

Somewhere where everything is effortlessly planned for me so the only thing I have to think about is where the beach is.

Where do you get your holiday inspiration?

Mainly from friends who like to travel the same way I do. I also have certain companies that I trust recommendations from, like Mr & Mrs Smith. Other than that, social media is obviously a great way to find interesting new places to go – I have a whole folder of saved locations to work my way through.

If you could sit next to anyone on a flight – dead or alive – who would it be?

Prince – not only because I love him, but also because he was small and quiet and I don’t think he’d hog the armrest.

How do you recover from jet lag?

I don’t, jet lag destroys me every time.

What’s your in-flight beauty routine?

Moisturise and hydrate. Repeat.

Your flight’s delayed an hour and your phone’s out of battery. How do you pass the time?

I highly recommend people watching in any airport bar, even if your phone isn’t out of battery.

Favourite hotel?

JK Place in Capri, we go every year and it feels like a home away from home. I also loved staying at The Okura in Tokyo because the original 1960’s design is just so incredible, it’s like stepping into a different era.

Favourite airline?

British Airways, mainly for their 10 out of 10 safety videos.

What’s on your travel playlist?

Mulatu Astake or Sister Nancy work on pretty much any holiday.

What are your must-have travel picks?

La Roche-Posay SPF 50, a roomy tote – Métier’s Black Private Eye Bag is my go-to, a pair of classic black sunglasses, 35mm Olympus Stylus, Curél deep moisture spray and my The 87 Harriet Set.

Where next?

I’m going to Hong Kong and Seoul next month which I’m really excited about as I haven’t been to either before. I plan on stuffing myself with dumplings and Korean BBQ and coming home with as much skincare as I can carry.

FIRST THING THAT COMES TO MIND…

Hand-luggage essential?

Noise cancelling headphones.

Packing: roll or fold?

Always roll.

Inflight book or inflight film?

Book. Movies were not made to be watched on a screen that small.

Music.

Time killer on a long-haul flight?

I try to be asleep for as much of it as I can.

Holiday tipple of choice?

Champagne.

Bucket list top destination?

Anywhere I can take the Orient Express to.

Best shopping gem found abroad?

A pair of 1970s YSL trousers in a vintage shop in Paris that fit like they were made for me.
