The Greek island of Mykonos has no shortage of hotels, which can make it difficult to know where to stay. This is the Citizen Femme editors’ pick of the best hotels in Mykonos.
Including hotels with heritage, a handful close to the island’s main town (but far enough away to escape the tourist throngs), one on the peaceful sandy shores of the southeast coast, and a private villa that makes for the perfect base to celebrate with friends, these are the best hotels in Mykonos for your summer 2025 getaway.

Belvedere Hotel Mykonos
Mykonos was a favourite destination of mine for the summers for many years. I would either stay in a villa as a big group of friends or my choice hotel would be Belvedere Hotel Mykonos – it is a perfect blend of luxury and authentic Cycladic charm. Sitting right above Mykonos Town, you have endless views of the Aegean Sea, so it feels removed, exclusive and calm, yet its easily accessible to the nightlife. I love the design of this property. It strikes a balance between modern elegance and traditional Greek architecture, it feels like a hidden oasis above the buzz of Mykonos Town, with its elevation away from the maze of tiny streets. The hotel has a restaurant by Nobu Matsuhisa (poolside) and a Six Senses Spa. It has an old-school charm with its exceptional service (which I like very much) mixed with a coolness from its resident crowd.

Deos Mykonos
I’ve stayed in multiple hotels in Mykonos (at least five, and located across the island – either in the town or on one of the many beaches), so it’s really hard to choose just one favourite. But I’m going to narrow it down to Deos, the newest property by Myconian Collection which opened in May 2024. Run by a family of hoteliers who really know Mykonos – they opened their first hotel here in 1979 and today own 14 across the island – it’s clear they know exactly what visitors need. Deos takes inspiration from the island’s traditional villages but is about as modern as it gets. It’s high-end but not stuffy. And it’s perfectly placed – close to Mykonos Town (a short buggy ride away), but far enough away to steer clear of its crowds. Every room comes with a terrace and either a plunge pool or hot tub, and dining comes with serious views – of the Aegean Sea and the whitewashed walls of the main town.

Cali Mykonos
Â
What struck me most about Cali Mykonos when I stayed there last year was that it really does ooze relaxed luxury out of every pore, which makes it perfect for wellness seekers wanting to enjoy the Greek islands with or without tipping a toe into Mykonos’ party scene. Just in case, there are cars (and boats!) on standby to take you to and from Mykonos Town straight from your private villa if you can be tempted out of the hotel’s calming sanctuary. The standout feature of the hotel is, perhaps unsurprisingly, the 130-metre infinity pool that overlooks the ocean – it is rumoured to be the longest pool on the island after all – and you never have to venture far at all to eat, drink, swim or relax in style here. In even better news, the site has just unveiled a brand new spa, complete with a longevity-boosting infrared sauna, cold plunges and tension-relieving treatments that take care of every muscle ache, while your treatment bed offers views over the crystal clear ocean. The new fitness suite is just as impressive, with ocean-side reformer Pilates and an outdoor gym, both making the very most of the site’s cliff-top location for anyone who doesn’t just want to lie back on a lounger their whole holiday.

Carmina, Blue Villas Collection
I visited Mykonos for the first time last October to celebrate a friend’s fortieth birthday – the first of our close-knit group to hit the milestone, and he truly set the bar high. The entire trip was organised as a surprise to him by his wife, my lovely friend Sarah, who runs the boutique travel company Flagstone Travel. And it’s safe to say that Villa Carmina absolutely blew us all away. Spread across three levels, with an additional three bedrooms in the adjacent guesthouse, Carmina is the epitome of laid-back luxury. Its whitewashed walls, natural stone textures, and floor-to-ceiling arched windows fill the space with light, while the outdoor living areas are the perfect place for entertaining come day or night. The standout feature has to be the villa’s vast infinity pool with sweeping views across the Aegean, stretching all the way to Paros and Naxos. Add to that its prime location just minutes from Psarou Beach and Mykonos Town, and it’s hard to imagine a better base for a celebratory escape. It was so good, in fact, that we only left the villa once — for a booking at Scorpios, the now-iconic beach club that has become something of a rite of passage for Mykonos partygoers.

Anandes Hotel Mykonos
Last summer, I travelled to Mykonos for the first time to stay at the newly opened Anandes hotel. Designed by Studio Bonarchi (the masterminds behind many of Greece’s sleekest properties) you’ll find a meditative palette inside of Cycladic whites, blues, and earthy-tones via stone finishings. At just 42 rooms and suites (scattered on the hillside, each facing the Aegean Sea) the hotel has a boutique feeling, however, thanks to the hotel’s restaurant (none other than La Petite Maison) calls in a jet-setting, party-loving crowd with rhythmic beats, live DJ and extensive cocktail list, and consequently fosters a buzz every evening. The French Riviera-inspired restaurant already has a global presence, with spots in Miami, Dubai, and London’s Mayfair, and therefore knows a thing or two about how to please with refined plates of summer salads, freshly-caught ceviche, and the best Tomatini on the island. Anandes is just a stone’s throw from Mykonos’ Old Town where the party continues into the early hours, catch a ride in on the hotel’s transfer service and dance until the early hours arrive.Â
