A sculptural 42-storey sanctuary in the heart of the City, Pan Pacific London is an unexpected family retreat that delivers on design, dining and wellness – with a whole host of London attractions within easy reach.

The Vibe

Instead of the usual big-city hotel bustle, there’s a sense of calm from the moment you step inside – the reception is flooded with natural light from the impressive floor-to-ceiling windows that span the property, the welcome is warm from kind staff who genuinely engage with little ones, while the modern, yet elegant design signals you’ve entered somewhere designed for comfort and luxury. The lobby merges Asian influences with a modern aesthetic, think curved architectural lines, striking artworks, and impressive floral displays that change with the seasons.

It helps that getting here is a breeze due to the hotel’s handy location right next to Liverpool Street Station; less than a three-minute walk away (even with a toddler in tow). The central location makes Pan Pacific London the perfect base for a staycation exploring London – with five underground lines, the Overground and National Rail services all right on the doorstep.

The Rooms

Home to 237 rooms and suites, Pan Pacific London’s interiors are sanctuary‑like, layering a muted palette with design-led accents from tactile textures to pops of colour across artwork and scatter cushions that lend a homely feel. Floor‑to‑ceiling windows frame the cityscapes, a feature that little ones will love for taking in the birds-eye view of the bustle of the city, and for eagerly spotting London’s iconic double-decker buses, below.

The beds here are generous and supremely comfortable with a real focus on sleep and wellbeing. On the bedside table, you’ll find a menu to explore the hotel’s sensory sleep experience, where bedtime is elevated into an art form, curating every detail for a night of restorative rest. At the end of a busy day of family fun, you’ll be all too ready to sink into the sumptuous Hypnos beds layered with plush toppers and 300-thread count cotton sheets. The feather-filled pillows are also perfection, but for anyone with a particular penchant (be it memory-foam to natural buckwheat), guests can select from an extensive pillow menu, which can be further enhanced with the addition of a soothing essential oil pillow mist, available on request. Sleep‑enhancing touches extend to yoga guides, nutritionist‑approved teas and snacks, and calming bath rituals – including the magnesium-packed bath salts; suitable for the whole family to use before bed, including babies over 3-months-old.

For families, groups, or those settling in for an extended city break, the Bishopsgate Two-Bedroom Suite is hard to beat. Measuring over 100 square meters it feels more like a chic city apartment than a hotel suite, thanks to its expansive living and dining space, two king-size bedrooms, two impressive bathrooms, a further separate toilet and sweeping views of both the city skyline and the historic site of St Botolph’s Church. It’s a refined home‑from‑home experience and, come check-out, one that you’ll be hard pressed to leave.

Children are welcomed into their own world of wonder with an assortment of books, board games, and teepee den that make this feel like their stay as much as yours. This whimsical little hideaway becomes a play space for the imaginations of young guests to run riot, or a quiet reading nook for some downtime after a busy day exploring the capital. The living area is the perfect space for families to gather for room service around the dining table, snuggle up and watch a movie, or simply relax and take in the skyline while doing a bit of colouring or puzzle solving.

Marble-clad bathrooms exude a serene and grown-up ambience, elevated by the hotel’s signature collaboration with Jo Loves. The uplifting scent, Mango Thai Lime, inspired by Jo Malone’s travels in Asia, will quickly become an olfactory reminder of your stay, weaving a genuine all-senses connection to the stay at every turn. The spacious bathrooms, wet-room style showers and a bath in each of the two bedrooms are also incredibly well-thought out when it comes to families and little ones. While grown-ups are spoilt with Pan Pacific London exclusive Jo Loves toiletries, little-ones are pampered too – with mini bathrobes and hotel slippers in even the tiniest of sizes.

Food + Drink

The children’s menu is filled with firm favourites, from the classic burger and macaroni cheese, to more adventurous dishes including chicken and egg fried rice and fillet steak and mash. Banquet style booths are a cosy choice for families, especially those seeking out bedtime in order to dine together. The children’s menu also handily doubles up as a colouring and puzzle game and the staff are only too happy to bring over crayons to keep little ones entertained until the food arrives. It’s also well worth noting that children aged 6 and under eat free at Straits Kitchen, while children aged 7 to 12 are charged at 50% off the à la carte menu.

Afternoon tea for guests aged up to 12 (at £29 per child) features crustless bite-sized sandwiches with traditional fillings as well as buttery, warm scones with berry jam and clotted cream. Sweet treats include lion-shaped biscuits, cherry cake-pops, and orange blossom madeleines – all of which can be decorated with icing and sprinkles to unleash your little ones creativity.

An impressive hot buffet serves all the classic English breakfast favourites, alongside Singaporean-inspired dishes such as congee, chicken curry, and gyoza – always a welcome addition to the table, no matter the time of day. Children will delight in the colourful spread of fruits, pastries, yoghurts, and cereals, while the bite‑sized, tater‑tot‑style hash browns are so moreish they’ll be rapidly inhaled by hungry little-ones and adults alike. Breakfast begins with a refreshing green juice shot, while the à la carte menu (inclusive in the Bed & Breakfast package) includes sweet treats like French toast and buttermilk pancakes, as well as lighter choices from classic crushed avocado and poached eggs to a more adventurous wonton noodle soup — the perfect remedy after an evening of sampling the cocktail menu, or so we’re told.

Dinner at Straits Kitchen is a true standout, deserving of a visit even if you’re not staying at the hotel. The thoughtfully curated menu is divided into small, medium, and larger plates – perfectly designed for sharing, encouraging diners to explore a variety of the delicious dishes on offer. Highlights include perfectly plump prawn dumplings and the silkiest Cornish crab pappardelle, smothered in a fragrant laksa-style sauce and topped with a generous sprinkle of caviar – fusion cuisine at its finest.

The Child’s Play

The current Lake Como-inspired pool takeover in partnership with Jo Loves (ends 31 August 2025) will become your port of call for a couple of dedicated hours of family splash time. The hotel provide inflatables, from rubber rings to pool noodles and kickboards for little ones to hone their swimming skills. The ‘Singa Cub Club’ is a thoughtful family programme designed especially to welcome younger guests. At check-in, children are made to feel particularly important and receive a ‘Singa the Lion’ soft toy and a ‘Little Explorers Adventure Pack’, complete with a treasure hunt book and activity booklet filled with games and colouring activities. Babysitting services are available on request at £50 per hour through the hotel’s trusted affiliate, Kidsitter, who provide exceptional care with highly experienced and professionally trained nannies.

The Spa

The sensory and wellbeing spa is a big part of Pan Pacific London’s allure, offering a calming sanctuary high above the city with a spectacular infinity pool as its centrepiece, with floor‑to‑ceiling windows that give a unique vantage point over Bishopsgate while you splash about with your family. Alongside the pool, grown-up guests can unwind in the sauna or aromatic steam room, or choose from a menu of tailored treatments that blend advanced techniques with Asian‑inspired therapies. A fully equipped, mindfulness‑focused fitness suite, guided meditation sessions, and holistic wellness programmes further cement the spa as a true destination – attracting not only hotel guests but also Londoners in search of restorative escape.

Sustainability is woven into the spa’s ethos, from the use of refillable, plastic‑free amenities and eco‑friendly linens to energy‑efficient heating and ventilation systems that help minimise the hotel’s environmental footprint.

Younger guests are equally welcomed, with dedicated children’s swim hours ensuring they can enjoy the pool without disturbing the tranquil atmosphere for other guests. The exclusive Bonpoint spa experience – the first of its kind in the UK – is designed for ages 6 to 16 and offers gentle, age‑appropriate treatments using the French maison’s renowned skincare range. The Fairy Tale Treatment comes highly recommended, combining a whimsical storytelling experience during a relaxing facial, while the Dreamy Treatment makes for a unique bonding moment between parent and child, as you lay side-by-side for a gentle massage and facial. A rare opportunity for children and teens to enjoy the same five‑star pampering as parents in a safe, thoughtful setting, making wellness a truly family‑friendly affair.

The To-Do List

Families staying at Pan Pacific London are perfectly placed to explore a quieter, more cultural side of the city. Harry Potter fans will love the Tour for Muggles, which starts just a nine-minute walk away from the hotel and guides you through some of the most magical locations from the films and books. Tee up at Puttshack’s mini golf courses (a fifteen-minute walk), say hello to sheep, goats and donkeys at Spitalfields City Farm (a 20-minute walk), or take a Terrible Thames tour by Horrible Histories as you cruise down the famous river.

Just a short bus ride away, the Young V&A in Bethnal Green offers a beautifully curated, design-led space for curious minds – a reimagined free-entry museum where children are encouraged to play, imagine, and create through immersive exhibits and hands-on installations. Closer still, Shoreditch Adventure Playground invites little ones to burn off energy with bouldering rocks, outdoor musical instruments, and whimsical wooden climbing structures.

For further ideas, the hotel’s concierge is always on hand to arrange bookings and share more inspiring ideas for memorably family days out.
