Autumn has arrived with its own magic. As we drape ourselves in (most likely) brown suede, the colour du jour, the season of plans is taking shape.
And as our travel plans unfold, girl-tripping has become a thing, quite a big thing in fact (as was noted in our trend report with Scott Dunn earlier this year). We highlighted some standout trips for women-only small group travel, where we can satiate our appetite for adventure and connections, and continue our quest for jet-setting. Planning ahead? If it’s a luxurious few days away you’re craving, we’re setting our sights on Madrid, a city that screams culture – from its historic flamenco theatres to its energetic street-food markets to the ancient tabernas – doing it all in utmost style. Longer haul? We headed to Puerto Rico and met the sensational women disrupting traditional tourism. If you want to get a flavour of such a vibrant destination, check out this clip of an incredible trip to the island of nearly 300 beaches, rainforests, street art, art déco, and a festival almost every weekend of the year…
This October, while art is heavy on our agenda (check out our Frieze Guide later in the month), we’re embracing skiwear as we plan ahead, plus October half-term (and navigating travels with fussy eaters) and Halloween. Make sure to check out our new weekly column helping inspire parents in London decide what to do with their kids each weekend, with plenty of inspiration come rain or shine.
And October also means Diwali. We’re very excited to celebrate with the wonderfully luxurious SUJÁN Camps this year at one of my favourite Indian restaurants in London, Jamavar, dressed by Anayah Jewellery, a stunning handmade demi-fine jewellery brand. These pieces don’t just sparkle, they speak to heritage, identity and joy, becoming a huge part of the celebration. It’s an ideal way to bring in the season.
Happy art month and Happy Diwali,
