What is Puerto Rican gastronomy? The talented, local chef Carol Reyes takes us into the kitchen of her incredible restaurant Bóveda where she translates Puerto Rico’s diverse culture into vibrant dishes.
Carol Reyes has spent her career working across some of the most exciting restaurants in Puerto Rico, after completing culinary training after high school. Now, chef Carol Reyes heads up her own restaurant called Bóveda in Hato Rey, San Juan, which almost three years in is one of the hottest spots on the main island.
In partnership with Discover Puerto Rico.
Authentic Puerto Rican dishes are at the heart of the menu at Bóveda, including fresh fish and crispy chicken. Though, Reyes has introduced several modern twists across the menu to create dishes that offer a world of experience when it comes to texture, flavour, and colours. This clever modernity is translated across the beautiful interior design, which sees curved wooden beams adorn the ceiling, a large stone-topped bar space, and a selection of wooden tables illuminated under a warm low lighting.
What makes Puerto Rican food so good? It’s all about the vibrant colours and diverse culture the Caribbean island archipelago has to offer. Allow Carol Reyes to show you around …
