As the calendar turns to November, and we’ve come to the end of October’s half-term break, we look to celebrations, festivities and plenty of socialising in our calendars.
And while the streets may still bear the ghosts of Halloween — hollowed-out pumpkins and candy wrappers — the festive countdown starts now. It’s the first flickers of the season— Christmas light switch-ons and Michael Bublé playing on repeat – that gives November a special kind of magic.
But we were not short of celebrations this past month. We celebrated Diwali with SUJÁN, a beautiful evening at one of my favourite Indian restaurants in London, Jamavar. We had an incredible cultural weekend away to Istanbul with MISELA seeing the city through the eyes of the founders, visiting their new atelier and uncovering the magic of the capital’s rich imperial history.
On a personal front, I have returned to London after two weeks in the Caribbean and, while I love this season, I am stocking up on some wardrobe staples that make the cold weather (and regular visits to Winter Wonderland) that much more bearable – this fringed poncho from Toteme being a particular favourite. I have a few favourite restaurant openings that I’m particularly excited about, Carbone London at Chancery Rosewood hotel and Soho’s Kapara – check out our regular column on the best restaurants to visit each month in London for plenty of mouthwatering inspiration. And I’m dreaming of days in Madrid following our campaigns exploring one of Spain’s main cities with tapas, flamenco and luxury spas. And if you caught our articles exploring Puerto Rico, we explored the vibrant island of Puerto Rico through the lens of incredible local Puerto Rican women. Catch Carol Reyes, Yabetza Vivas, and Melina Aguilar here. This month we are looking for winter sun, we’re tapping into ski, your travel beauty routine (and in the airport lounge), style secrets, more local city guides, and of course Christmas planning.
Happy pre-Christmas,
