What does January actually look like for you? A fresh reset button, or just a slightly shinier version of December? Is it all about goal‑setting and intention‑laying, or do you secretly think that’s a bit of faff?
For many, January feels like that magical stretch between dreams and destinations, the year still unspoiled, possibilities wide open. As a young adult, I would greet January with an aching hangover. Now, I’m usually tucked in by 12.15am after I’ve clinked an obligatory glass of champagne (in all honesty, sometimes sooner), waking the next morning full of ambitious plans and optimistic intentions. I write down goals — personal, familial, professional — hug my wellness routines like long‑lost friends, earmark travel ideas, set aside books I’m definitely going to read, download apps that I’ll religiously follow (and entirely delete ones that no longer serve my purpose – my phone gets a clean out too). For me, January is a thrilling cleanse. I am committed to ensuring the first day of the month is all smiles like a superstitious talisman that sets the tone for the year ahead. (The image is from the spectacular Anguilla view I looked out upon as I wrote my intentions).
With this in mind, the goal of Citizen Femme is to get to know you. So I urge you to share with us what you want to read, events you want to attend and journeys you’re excited to learn about (and anything else that you want to share).
This year we will explore new beginnings to beach, family to fashion, culture to cruise, and lots more in between. As you journey through our magazine, let it be more than a guide, let it be a beginning. Whether you’re planning your first big trip of the year or simply dreaming of where your heart might lead next, here’s to traveling with curiosity, joy, and open eyes. May your January journey remind you that renewal isn’t just about fresh starts at home, but about the places that awaken you, challenge you, and bring new wonder into your life.
Here’s to 2026 — may it be your best journey yet.
Warmest wishes,
