Summer Starts Here: Citizen Femme x D Maris Bay

There are few better ways to kick off summer than a long, golden lunch among good company.

And so, to welcome the season, Citizen Femme joined forces with the exquisite Turkish resort D Maris Bay for exactly that. We gathered 20 of London’s most interesting tastemakers at Il Gattopardo, trading grey city skies for an afternoon steeped in the effortless elegance of the Turkish Riviera.

The setting was perfect for it with Il Gattopardo’s sun-drenched Mediterranean spirit, the room was filled with new introductions and old friends reuniting. We raised glasses, we shared plates shared, and discovered the delight of one of this summer’s finest destinations.

At the heart of it all was D Maris Bay, and the promise of summer on Türkiye’s most spectacular shore. Set within a protected nature reserve on the secluded Datça Peninsula, the resort occupies a hidden cove where the Aegean meets the Mediterranean, framed by volcanic mountains, pine forests and turquoise waters.

Five private white-sand beaches each carry their own character, from the family-friendly calm of Bay Beach and the personalised cabanas of Maris Beach, to the Greek flavours of Manos, the serene seclusion of Silence Beach (no phones allowed), and the sophisticated, French Riviera-style glamour of the iconic La Guérite. Add a sprawling spa, two pools and more than a dozen restaurants and bars, with the arrival of Capri’s legendary Aurora accompanying gastronomic heavyweights like Zuma, and the renowned Nusr-Et Steakhouse. Sail across glassy water, linger over lunch, spa, enjoy time with family, or simply do nothing at all, beautifully of course. Make sure to stop via the Dior boutique before you take part in some designer reclining at the Dior-appointed pool. And on top of all the glamour, this stretch of the Datça Peninsula remains untouched, offering wild beauty in understated style.

As the afternoon wound down, that was rather the point. In D Maris Bay style, it was all about Mediterranean ease, exceptional hospitality and natural beauty, and for a few hours in the company of London’s most discerning, we got a taste of it.
