Beat The Heat DXB Dubai

The region’s most popular indoor concert series returns to Dubai World Trade Centre, now until 22 August 2026. Upcoming performances include Rasha Rizk (1 August), Al Shami (8 August), Marwan Moussa and Hleem (15 August), and Talal Sam and Sultan Murshid (21 August).

Drift Dubai

Drift Dubai reopens on 19 August; here your swim comes with skyline views, food credit, music and a table. Quieter than many of the city’s other beach clubs, the water here overlooks the Marina skyline. They previously hosted late-night swims on a Friday and Saturday from 7pm until midnight, including food and drinks. Here’s hoping they bring this back once they open again.

Shopping at the textile souk

For travellers who value heritage, head to Dubai Creek, where the high-rise gives way to the low. Within a jumble of karak-coloured, wood-shuttered buildings and shopfronts wedged beside the 18th-century Al Fahidi Fort, there’s a great choice of stores, cafés and restaurants. This pedestrian thoroughfare is best explored at dusk when the kiosks selling corn and ice cream open.

Dubai Design District

Dubai Design District (known as D3) is an ever-expanding creative hub, home to concept stores, art exhibitions, workshops and cafés: Emirati-owned boutiques such as The Edit and Bambah Boutique are both great for beach wear and kaftans; head to designer boutique Bougouessa for stylish find, and Dima Ayad for exquisite dresses. Events like Dubai Design Week often have key activations here, with performances and hands-on experiences.

Wellness

Health club Swell opened in mid April in Al Quoz, combining Pilates, infrared-heated sculpt, strength training, dance-led sessions with private infrared saunas and cold plunges. This retro-social wellness club offers day passes.

Trunk shows

Look out for local trunk shows to grab some new pieces. It’s a common practise for many designers to exhibit and host trunk shows especially during off-peak season, and the best way to find out about them is to follow designers on Instagram, where they regularly post details. A personal favourite of mine are hosted by Aamir Mazhar who brings together the very best of dazzling Eastern jewellery and a fusion of south Asian attire. Savile Row based, Knatchbull is a regular host for Emirati ladies.
