Summer’s must-try ‘HIIT on Water’

aquaphysical

I’m a big fan of for trying new fitness activities and trends. And then I came across this, the popular new HIIT training, but this time on water. This is one I couldn’t resist, least because its run by the uber-cool Firmdale Collection of Hotels, so you know it will be done in style. The Haymarket Hotel in London’s West End has launched a limited series of 30 minute cross training classes held in their swimming pool.

bhuti eco wellness retreat, London

Nestled on Hill Rise in leafy Richmond you’ll find ‘bhuti’ an eco wellbeing centre offering a day spa experience, treatments, a yoga studio, a wellbeing members club and vegan café. I was lucky to be able to attend a Bhuti yoga supper. It promised to offer me an evening of rebalanced energy with a 60 minute yoga session followed by a clean and healthy 3 course dining experience. A supper club with a difference!

The Cleansing – A Cold Pressed Revolution

The Juice Truck

The Juice Truck

Eating meals these days is starting to seem so passé. Who are these people who drink beer and eat cheeseburgers when cold pressed juice shops are everywhere and now we’ve even taken it to the next step where there are soup cleanses to resort to as well.

I admit I’m completely guilty of drinking my food over actually eating it and I find my kitchen is overflowing with mason jars. I crave green juices on a cellular level, I’ve abandoned simple carbs and alcohol – also known as everything I’ve ever enjoyed in my entire life.

The last six months have taken me away from the studio and my incredible clients to treading the boards all over the UK. From Edinburgh to Guildford, Manchester to Shrewsbury, an array of over 20 venues where I have sought for Yoga and Fitness Studios to Cafes and Restaurants for that Home from Home feel.

How to keep fit in Rio de Janeiro

Rio is one of the world’s most exciting and vibrant cities, famous for its sites, samba and beaches, but no one ever mentions the fitness options available to short-term travellers alongside the tourist information here. That’s probably because Rio is actually extremely difficult to exercise in (safely) for a woman – but with the right know-how it’s possible to stay fit on your trip in style.

Take control of your life…

“Incredible change happens in your life. When you decide to take control of what you do have power over, instead of craving control over what you don’t.”

Having been on the road for 6 months for a theatre job, this really can take its toll on your weight and you can give up on the dream of a self-practice everyday. Trying to find enough room in your digs or behind stage is not always ideal, especially when actors are warming up singing ridiculous songs and trying to be as loud as possible. The same goes if you are travelling for periods of time at work, you go to the gym but never quite have the same session you would if you were home.
