The Cutest Beach Front Hotel in Tulum: Rosa del Viento

Tulum is one of the cutest beach towns in Quintana Roo, and on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Riviera Maya.

It’s two hours from Cancun and has the most beautiful turquoise waters I’ve ever seen! I first learned about Tulum a few years ago when Aimee Song of Song of Style visited for her birthday. She had the loveliest photos of herself laying in hammocks at Rosa del Viento, one of my favourite beach front hotels in Tulum!

A few years later, I am visiting the same exact spot! I decided to spend my New Year in Tulum to end 2016 and celebrate 2017 with a bang! I was able to book one of their last rooms for this, one of their busiest times, and couldn’t be more excited. We were welcomed with a cocktail drink on arrival. A good start!

The Property

The hotel has 15 self-sustaining air-conditioned rooms with king size beds and hammocks all over the property. Rosa del Viento was built with minimum environmental impact, making use of available resources from the surroundings, allowing you to feel like you are in a secluded island or jungle. Rosa del Viento is the last hotel along the main road in Tulum so you will definitely be away from the crowds.

The Restaurant

With a great restaurant, hammocks everywhere, beach club and white sand beaches, Rosa del Viento has everything you could possibly want for a beach vacation. You can even indulge in spa services right on the beach. Even though I visited over the New Year period, this property was not crowded at all. It was great to find cabanas available and I truly felt like my boyfriend and I were the only ones on the beach. What I loved even more is the miles and miles of beach. Turn right and see some of the most beautiful private properties, or turn left and explore other hotels.

The Room

The rooms have a unique intimate style that makes you feel like you’re somewhere tropical, as you are. All rooms have their own private terrace with rustic wooden tables and chairs. I highly suggest booking a beach front room because nothing beats waking up to that ocean view. There were no TVs in the room, a welcome removal from the rooms. Who needs Netflix when you have the ocean a few feet away? All rooms have complimentary WiFi and daily housekeeping.

The rooms come with complimentary breakfast, and I would recommend indulging in the buffet as well as their incredible French Toast. The restaurant is located on the second floor with views of the ocean. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily and also serves the beach club. We had lunch here once, and I would recommend the fish tacos and ceviche. We did not get to try dinner at the restaurant during our stay but I am confident it is worth trying.

The Beach

The beach club at Rosa del Viento is absolutely beautiful. The turquoise water is surreal, postcard perfect, and the water is one of the warmest I’ve been in. I absolutely loved their cabanas where the restaurant staff caters with food and drinks throughout the day.

If you’re looking of some relaxation and quiet time, I highly suggest booking a room at Rosa del Viento. You may never want to leave!
