Ysabel - LA's best bar and restaurant scene

Ysabel

945 N Fairfax Avenue
West Hollywood 90046
323. 366. 2940

Open for brunch and dinner, located in the Fairfax District, Ysabel still holds one of the best restaurant/bar scenes in Los Angeles. Brought to you by the Laurel Hardware team, this spot tends to attract a somewhat older, trendier crowd, with drinks hitting up to $18 a pop. Try the Susannah cocktail made with Michter’s Bourbon, strawberries, elderflower and aged balsamic, or the Jannine made with Basil Hayden’s & Grand Marnier “Toddy” w/honey, lemon and allspice.

There are two large bars on each side of the venue with a two-story patio being the focal point of the restaurant, decorated with large, illuminated trees. Check for a reservation on any given day and find yourself questioning why you didn’t book this, perhaps, a few weeks in advance. All the menu items are great for sharing. From a large list of vegetarian appetizers like Persimmon Salad with Almond, Feta, and a Honey Vinaigrette, to a specialized 18oz Aspen Ridge Bone in Rib Chop steak from Colorado, there’s something to try here for everyone.

Don’t forget the “happening” bar scene that starts after dinner and often requires a guest list just to get in for drinks. No wonder there’s never a spot!

Tip: The bar is open daily until 2am, so get your comfortable shoes on!
