This Week CF Loves: 22.02.21

From online shopping to online streaming, it’s all become a game of eeny meeny miny moe.

If you’re feeling spoilt for choice (in the digital sphere, at least) but find the act of choosing a darn sight harder, our roundup of this week’s most coveted is here to help…

TRY (THEN BUY) THESE Manolos At Home

Manolo Blahnik have launched an at-home concierge service. We repeat. With ‘Manolos at Home’ customers based in London (zones one to three) can avail of a complimentary shopping service seven days a week. Dreamy. Here’s how it works: shopping advisors will wait while you try on your choice of sandals, pumps, and mules, offer advice if required, and then return any unwanted styles to the store. For a boutique-like experience from the comfort of home, visit the store locator page to book an appointment.

WATCH THIS I Care A Lot

Starring Rosamund Pike and directed by J Blakeson, I Care A Lot tells the story of Marla Grayson (Pike) a crooked legal guardian who regularly drains the savings of her elderly wards. However, when a woman Marla tries to swindle turns out to be more than she first appears, the swindler (read: Pike) finds herself in hot water. Pike’s performance (more so than the film itself) has received high praise, with comparisons made to her standout turn as Amy Dunne in Gone Girl, circa 2013. This nasty, icy thriller is available on Netflix and Amazon now.

EAT THIS Napoli Gang

Big Mamma (the team behind Gloria and Circolo Popolare) have launched Napoli Gang – London’s ultimate pizza (and pasta) delivery service. For a taste of la dolce vita, we’re dedicating our next Friday-night delivery (dinner orders can be placed between 6PM and 10PM) to Italian feasting. We’re ordering the ‘Ninja Turtles truffle’ – a decadent array of truffle cream with ricotta and mascarpone, fresh seasonal truffle, marinated grilled artichokes, mozzarella fior di latte, sautéed button mushrooms, and anchovies. If that’s not cheese enough for you, why not add a ‘pesto fever burrata’ into the mix. Polish things off with the group’s gravity-defying ‘lemon pie XXL’ – tangy and crisp, with a stratospheric layer of meringue – it’s the perfect note to end your culinary tour of Italy (by way of Fitzrovia) on.

STREAM THIS Tony And The Young Artists, Royal Opera House

Tony and the Young Artists brings together Antonio Pappano, Music Director of The Royal Opera, and rising stars of the opera world, Alexandra Lowe, Stephanie Wake-Edwards, and Filipe Manu – from the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme – in an intimate evening streamed from the decadent Crush Room at The ROH. Music lovers can enjoy a 75-minute performance spanning well-known opera pieces by Mozart and Verdi, as well as cabaret and musical theatre songs by Weill and Bernstein respectively. A novel way to spend an evening, while also offering financial support the ROH during this challenging time.

SHOP THIS AERIN, Mattea Spherical Placeholders & Card Set

Echoing the founder, Aerin Lauder’s, ethos that ‘living beautifully should be effortless’ these AERIN gold Mattea placeholders add a simple elegance to any dinner table. At your next dinner party or chic business lunch (whenever that may be) place a spherical brass ball at each individual place setting to mark everyone’s spot and add a touch of majesty to proceedings. (CF Top Tip: we think Smythson’s gold-edge white wove place cards are the perfect pairing).
