BOOK THIS NoMad, London

NoMad London – the hotel brand’s first international posting – opens this week. Taking residence in the former Bow Street Magistrates’ Court and Police Station, the Grade-II listed building comprises of 91 guest rooms, including 21 suites. Playful in spirit, expect rich interiors – think lush textiles and ethereal murals – plus some 1,600 artworks, spanning post-war American art and the European avant-garde, to newly commissioned works. It’s Bohemia meets Bonhams. For those not staying overnight, there’s still much to enjoy. Head for dinner at The NoMad Restaurant, which is housed in a lush, light-filled atrium; or for something more casual, try Side Hustle and feast on sharing plates paired with an agave-based tipple. There’s also Common Decency, the first-ever NoMad lounge. Dubbed a “subterranean playground”, we’ll be heading here for our fill of decadence and devilment.

SHOP THIS Polkra x Katie Scott Botanical Candles

After a weekend of maximal living, a night in, curled up on the sofa, is advisable/vital. To set the mood for a cosy night in, we’re looking to Polkra x Katie Scott Botanical Candles. Made from 100% natural, paraffin-free wax these beautifully scented candles boast a burn time of 45 hours. Housed in ornately patterned ceramic pots, created by London Illustrator, Katie Scott, each design has been inspired by Katie’s history of botanical art. ‘Atlas’ is our choice scent – enjoy a bouquet of figs, musk, cassis, cedar wood, and mandarin –; it’s  yum x10. Once your candle has reached the bottom of its wick, why not repurpose the candle pot as a vessel for paint brushes and pencils, or even for miniature plants? It’s the gift-to-self that keeps on giving.

WATCH THIS Netflix, Haltson

Ryan Murphy has done it again. Halston – a five-part Netflix biopic tracing the American fashion designer’s ascent to fame and fortune – is now available to watch on the small screen. With Ewan McGregor in the title role, appearing alongside ‘Halstonettes’ Krysta Rodriguez (as Liza Minnelli) and Rebecca Dayan (Elsa Peretti), the series explores the hedonistic world of Halston in 1970s and ‘80s New York, and his battle to retain the Halston name, following a hostile takeover.

TRIAL THIS Selfridges, Rent Your Wardrobe

Places to go. People to see. Outfits to plan. Taking the stress (and a chunk of the expense) out of dressing, Selfridges have launched a rental service that allows shoppers to borrow items of new-season clothing from brands including Jacquemus, Rixo, Ganni, and Simone Rocha. Prices for a four-day rental begin at £20, with the outer rental period stretching to 20 days. Super convenient, you’ll get your chosen outfit(s) delivered straight to your door – note: all deliveries, returns, and dry-cleaning services are complimentary (using prepaid reusable packaging). A clever way to shop the latest fashion trends, whilst keeping things affordable and more sustainable, Selfridges is committed to changing the way we shop – and we’re committed to shopping.

LISTEN TO THIS Google, Nest Sessions

“Hey Google, play Church Girl – Dance Remix by Laura Mvula”. The artist’s reimagining of her latest single, Church Girl, has been cued and placed on repeat on our Google Nest Hub at CF HQ for days. Part of Nest Sessions, the mood-inspired music experience from Google, Mvula’s track really gets you ready to dance (especially during those five-minute desk/brain breaks). The chilled remix is also vibes – and available on SpotifyYouTube, and any Google-assistant enabled device. As our obsession for the track has grown, we’ve also become rather fond of our new Nest Hub – a 7-inch smart display that can assist with anything from playing music to lunchtime recipe recall and directions to your afternoon meeting. All controlled by your voice, it’s multi-tasking made easy.
