Flamingo Beach in Aruba
Ready to chill with a flamboyance of flamingos (what a great plural!). Head to Aruba’s Renaissance private island where the golden sand meets an azure sea – perhaps one of the most exotic locations to spark your wanderlust. Birds of paradise aside, Aruba is a beautiful Caribbean Dutch island where the European architecture is painted in tropical pastels. The locals speak many languages, welcoming a stress-free environment on your dream getaway.
Komodo Island Pink Beach, Indonesia
One of the most isolated beaches in Indonesia, Pink Beach or ‘Kanawa’ gets its name from its rose-tinted sandy shores. One of only seven beaches in the world where the sand has this colour, a hue that’s caused by the bright red coral in the shallow waters. Speaking of which, the water is so clear, this beach is very well known for snorkelling to discover the magical coral reefs. Just don’t stay after dark as there’s komodo dragons hunting around the island.
Zaya Nurai Island, Abu Dhabi
A private haven for couples or families alike. This private beach is only reachable by water taxi from Abu Dhabi’s port by the Louvre. Once there, take your pick of beach-side cocktails or a locally sourced lunch at the VIP beach club, take in a massage at the spa, where treatment rooms are strung along the shore then join the evening party at Smoking Pineapple. This island also houses zip lines, treehouses, outdoor cinemas and endless water sports for the adrenalin junkies.
Great Exuma beach, Bahamas
This un-inhabited island in the Bahamas is populated only by adorable swimming pigs. Where did they come from? No-one knows, but they sure make a good selfie companion in the pristine waters. A must day trip for anyone visiting this tropical paradise.
José Ignacio, Uruguay
Visit Uruguay’s most happening beach town, where artists, musicians and surfers mix with the jet set, and discover original galleries and conceptual stores among the surf shacks and seafood restaurants. José Ignacio hosts a very bohemian outlook where yoga on the beach is every day occurrence, building an appetite for the fresh seafood served at this coastal destination. A very underrated find.
