This Week CF Loves: 01.04.24

There are no April fool’s in this week’s hotlist.

This miracle supplement is what everyone is talking about, and for good reason. Summers in Capri are on our wish list and this speakeasy is the hot table to book this month. We’ve got the perfect city sandal and hop on this waitlist from now. This is what we’re loving in this week’s hotlist.

If you haven’t yet come across the super energy booster, NAD+, you soon will. The buzzword touted as the miracle supplement, NAD+ is a natural co-enzyme which energises, structures, and repairs every cell in the body via a synergistic process. It’s involved in processes like metabolism, DNA repair, and cell signalling. In fact, without NAD, your cells wouldn’t be able to efficiently produce energy or carry out essential functions. A turbo boost, if you will, that gives you a boost in energy, maintaining and repairing your cells. Unfortunately, as we age our NAD+ levels decline. NAD is said to slow down ageing, making your brain sharper, your sleep deeper, your metabolism faster, your vision clearer, your hangovers non-existent and your body filled with boundless energy. It sounds like a no brainer, right? Available as a daily oral supplement, NAD+ is fundamental for life and is as essential to our bodies as oxygen.

STAY HERE Hotel La Palma, Capri

As we begin to approach the season for so many European destinations, its wise to get booking some summer favourites. And Capri is one destination that is likely on everyone’s summer wish list. The first full season for Hotel La Palma – Oetker Collection’s first Italian hotel on the fabled island of Capri – opens. This Italian haven is nothing less than dream-like from the moment you enter with contemporary ceiling frescos by Roberto Ruspoli (credited as the artist who reinvented frescos). Bedrooms ooze Mediterranean calm with hues of blues, greens, and turquoise, handmade rattan furniture, and bathrooms fully stocked with Santa Maria Novella amenities. Unforgettable culinary experiences include Gennaro for 1950s classic Capri charm and Da Gioia by La Palma – the hotel’s chic beach club, which will open for dinner every Thursday to Saturday throughout the summer. Add to this, the hotel welcomes La Palma Spa for manicures, pedicure, blow dries. Start your day with a coffee at La Palma Terrace, a bustling location to watch the world pass by, and, following a day at the beach, head up to the unapologetically glamorous, rooftop garden restaurant and lounge bar Bianca offering stunning views over Capri Village and the sea.

BUY THESE Ancient Fisherman Sandals

The humble fisherman regularly becomes the sandal of the summer. A caged shoe with history dating back to the early half of the 20th century when European fishermen required shoes that would easily drain, its resurgence and appreciation means it is a great transitional shoe, worn with bare feet and often with socks, jeans as well as anything floaty. You can trust Ancient Greek Sandals as a go-to for the choice style (along with The Row, Dragon Diffusion and Gabriela Hearst being other favourites). Alongside their classic leather vachetta style, they have now introduced two new fabrications for the season – mock croc and raffia – in two styles and three colourways. Hardwearing and versatile, they are the perfect city sandal.

The team behind acclaimed cocktail bars Oriole, Nightjar and Bar Swift bring back PRELUDE by Oriole, the popular speakeasy which was forced to close in 2022 owing to the redevelopment of Smithfields Market. The three-month pop up bar in Covent Garden showcases some of the changes that will be coming to the proper Oriole 2.0 that will be set up later in the year, where cocktails are accompanied by an à la carte food offering. Drawing influences from various places and traditions, including Nikkei (Japanese-Peruvian fusion) and Argentine-Italian cuisines, the menu combines ingredients such as Mexican delicacy huitlacoche (corn smut), Peruvian ají amarillo (yellow pepper), koji, seaweed and matcha in a creative variety of dishes and desserts.
