Are These The World's Best New Spas?

Searching for your next luxury spa retreat? Discover our round-up of the world’s newest spas, which are quickly earning their place as some of the best thanks to luxurious settings and innovative treatments.

Including Guerlain’s first spa in Greece and the new Dior spa in Dubai, these luxury openings offer the ultimate in rest and relaxation.

Guerlain Spa at One&Only Aesthesis, Greece

Having already fallen head-over-heels for the Guerlain spa at Raffles London, we had high hopes for the Parisian beauty brand’s latest spa opening at the One&Only Aesthesis in Greece (its first ever in the country). It does not disappoint. A true escape away from your stresses, the array of personalised treatments on the extensive spa menu include indulgent rituals that never feel rushed – although you’ll wish that they went on for even longer. That includes the signature two-hour Nymph of the Athenian Riviera; a scalp and body massage using rose quartz stones and Guerlain skincare, designed just for the hotel. Outside the treatment rooms, the wellness space is expansive too, with a 25-metre heated outdoor pool, tennis courts, and a cryotherapy room awaiting you. In fact, there’s so much to experience that you’ll find it very difficult to leave; the outside world with all its stressors really does start to feel very far away.

Dior Spa at The Lana, Dubai, UAE

Dior has launched its first-ever spa in the UAE and, as you might expect, it’s truly stunning. Found on the 29th floor of The Lana hotel in Dubai, the light-filled space – which comprises five treatment rooms and one couple’s suite – has spectacular floor-to-ceiling windows looking out across the city, including of the iconic Burj Khalifa. But, it’s not all about the views: the spa contains all the luxurious elements that you’d expect from a Dior beauty and wellness offering too. These include cutting-edge technology-led treatments such as LED therapy masks and customisable sauna sessions, plus three signature treatments exclusive to The Lana. Escale is a full-body tension-relieving stretching experience inspired by Japanese rituals; the Dior Stone Therapy is a hot stone massage combined with an exfoliating sapphire-based facial; and D-Sculpt is a firming and slimming treatment that uses anti-cellulite dry brushing techniques.

Moi Spa at METT Marbella Hotel, Spain

Just in time for Marbella’s summer season, METT Marbella Hotel & Beach Resort has unveiled a new five-star spa, complete with soothing dimmed lighting and a warm, inviting indoor pool to unwind in. We can’t think of a better way to relax after a day (or night) spent at the iconic Azure Beach Club on the property. What also sets the Moi Spa apart is the laser focus on personalisation throughout the spa menu. Whether you are looking for an invigorating facial or a relaxing body treatment, the friendly team has been trained to recommend the very best experience for you. If we had to choose one though, it would be the Beauty Marbella Indulge – a head and body massage that leaves you floating on air. And, with the renovations also seeing the addition of a third restaurant and new suites to the property, there’s even more guarantee that you can destress in style.

Cap Juluca, Anguilla, Caribbean

While spas are traditionally all about escape, the true magic of the new spa at Cap Juluca, A Belmond Hotel is how deeply it draws inspiration from the world outside of its walls; specifically Anguilla’s earliest Caribbean inhabitants, the Arawak tribe. The lush, tropical spa is designed in collaboration with Guerlain, and the seven sun-filled rooms are complete with intricate touches such as the presence of Anguilla’s local flora, while the relaxation spaces have fountains linked to the area’s spiritual history. There’s also a focus on renewal rituals that celebrate the atmosphere, culture and activities of the island, and you’ll want to try all of the exclusive treatments on its menu. Highlights include Ocean Vibes, an invigorating face and body experience that incorporates the calming sounds of the waves, and the Restorative After Sun treatment, where a soothing wrap and freshwater massage deeply nourish your skin from head-to-toe.

Signet Spa at The Barnsdale, England

Found in the heart of the East Midlands countryside, The Barnsdale is already a popular and luxurious yet laid-back retreat, but the addition of the Signet Spa (opening its doors in July 2024) is set to increase the 46-bedroom hotel’s appeal. The small, outdoor sanctuary allows you to soak up the best of the former lodge’s scenery while reconnecting with nature, and the spa is home to a heated outdoor pool, wood-fired hot tubs, and an outdoor sauna – keeping you warm and relaxed whatever the British weather may bring. The treatments here are equally in touch with the landscape too, and use GAIA’s natural skincare products including a full-body mud scrub treatment and a GAIA jade facial. Post-treatment, retire to the beautiful Central Club House to curl up with a health smoothie, or a wild-mint tea freshly picked from the hotel’s kitchen garden.

Susurros del Corazón, Mexico

Located between jungled cliffs and a pristine white-sand beach, Susurros del Corazón is a true seaside paradise, and the soothing ebb and flow of the ocean is at the heart of the resort’s new Onda spa. Onda – which means waves in Spanish – offers not only a full programme of traditional spa treatments (including targeted deep-tissue and lymphatic-drainage massages) within 11 peaceful open-air treatment rooms, but also an extensive range of holistic treatments. Choose from in-water sound baths, sunrise yoga, sunset meditations on the beach and intuitive painting classes. The spa’s signature treatment, Las Ondas, is the must-try experience, though. It’s a specially-designed rhythmic massage that mimics the flow of the ocean to release deep-seated tension while lulling you into a deep, relaxed rest.

Calcot & Spa, England

The award-winning (and family-friendly) Cotswolds bolthole, Calcot & Spa has expanded its spa facilities, making it one of our top recommendations for your next spa day with friends. Now with more spaces to unwind and catch-up in – including a new lounge, relaxation room and treatments spaces (plus the signature outdoor fireside hot tub) – you’ll feel instantly at home and away from the fast-paced world outside. Known for its warm and friendly atmosphere for all ages, the spa has also expanded its focus on holistic wellness; a partnership with the soothing skincare brand Comfort Zone joins an already packed treatment menu that includes reiki and reflexology. For those that see exercise as the best path to wellbeing, there’s the new state-of-the-art gym and fitness club, Grain Store, as well as results-driven post-workout recovery sessions provided by Proverb to keep you feeling fresh.

Chenot Espace Spa, Italy

Even the exterior of Chenot Espace Spa at L’Albereta has the ability to make your heart soar. This beautiful, vine-covered 19th-century villa offers a stunning venue for the renowned – if hardcore – fasting protocols on the Chenot Advanced Detox plan. Having emerged from a complete renovation and with (even more) cutting-edge diagnostic wellness programmes, the spa has built on its already leading position as an Italian medical and wellness destination. There are also plans in place for those wanting a slightly more relaxed approach to fasting, such as the nourishing Chenot Bio-Light diets. The site is home to over 30 doctors, therapists, dieticians, osteopaths and beauticians to maximise your treatment experiences, as well as the latest five-star facilities; private treatment cabins, a floor dedicated to hydro-treatments, multiple pools and a fitness centre. Here, you’ll have all the tools you need to reach your ultimate wellness goals while staying in luxury.

Ibiza Gran Open Spa, Ibiza

Ibiza is an island known for its contrasts – there’s the music-filled party side and the zen yogi paradise. But who says you have to choose? Ibiza Gran is bringing the two together with its expansive wellness sanctuary Open Spa – a 13,000-square-metre escape – which offers the perfect tonic after you’ve danced the night away in the nearby old town. Every inch of the spa is designed to help ease tensions (and hangovers). You can feel your knots melt away in the heated hydromassage pools equipped with jets, waterfalls, and swan necks for targeted therapy. There’s the hot and cold ice lounge or water bed-filled relaxation areas to have a nap in. Or sink into the Turkish hammam, the Finnish sauna complete with Himalayan salt therapy, and the salt-steam breathing room to revitalise from head-to-toe. You’ll feel indulgently relaxed even before you enter the treatment rooms for your face and body rituals. The finishing touch: a Beauty Salon for hair styling and makeup, to make sure you’re ready for your next night out too.
