Isolation Lessons + Bucket List Goals From These Brilliant Women

Where are we dreaming of, how are we filling our time, what do we miss and what do we value… more than ever.

We speak to someone of our favourite women about their bucket lists and whats really keeping them sane. As well as what we really need to add to our list of must-carry travel items!


Nathalie Schyllert, CEO of Bodyism

If I could go anywhere tomorrow I’d go to: A beach in the Maldives with my closets friends and family. 

My top 3 bucket list destinations I’m planning to visit post isolation are:
1. Sweden, I haven't been home for 2 years and now when I can't go I'm missing it more than ever.
2. Maldives, my favourite holiday destination by far
3. D-Maris Bay in Turkey where we have a Bodyism gym -it's a perfect combination of work and holiday. 

3 things I never travel without:
1. Iphone- for remote work, photos, music, podcasts and so much more. 
2. Face SPF 50 by La Mer, a perfect light texture and full protection.
3. Bodyism Serenity supplement, helps me sleep and relax. The best cure for jet lags or when you're feeling anxious in general. 

3 things that are keeping me sane during isolation: 
1. I love a Lemongrass massage oil that I got from one of the yoga teachers at Bodyism
2. A Dior candle with The Osmanthus scene 
3. Lots of plants and fresh flowers

Isolation has me missing: My friends and going to work
Isolation has me appreciating: My family and spending time at home

If I could go anywhere tomorrow I’d go to: LA and have lunch at The Ivy.

My top 3 bucket list destinations I’m planning to visit post isolation are:
1. Sri Lanka – I have always wanted to go!
2. Mykonos, I haven’t been for 20 years and it is one of my favourite places on earth
3. An epic American road trip 

3 things I never travel without:
1. My iphone
2. My passport
3. A Donna Ida Dolly

3 things that are keeping me sane during isolation: 
1. I have never been so busy! The Donna Ida website
2. Cooking – I love it and have been able to do so much more
3. My To Do list which is getting ticked off daily, for us this time is a gift, I am getting things done that I have wanted to for YEARS.

Isolation has me missing: Friends and family
Isolation has me appreciating: The gift of time

If I could go anywhere tomorrow I’d go to: See my grandparents who have been isolated from the rest of the world since it all started

My top 3 bucket list destinations I’m planning to visit post isolation are:
1.Touring New Caledonia
2. Touring Japan
3. Climbing Machu Pichu in Peru

3 things I never travel without:

1. The pictures I have taken doing my world tour Honeymoon last summer (45 days long, visiting 15 countries)
2. The Clay I brought back from the Dead Sea in Israel to use as a face mask
3. The Dry Miso I brought back from Los Angeles, I put it on anything and everything.. it adds an amazing twist to your dishes

Isolation has me missing: Restaurants, friends and gatherings 
Isolation has me appreciating: The quality time I get to spend with my husband

If I could go anywhere tomorrow I’d go to: The port of St Tropez where our sailing yacht Savannah lies.

My top 3 bucket list destinations I’m planning to visit post isolation are: BTW these are in my dreams (not necessarily where I will get to go immediately post isolation, but a girl’s got to dream)
1. Mongolia: the spiritual home of cashmere (alongside Nepal) and explore the plains of the Gobi Desert
2.Antarctica: this has been on my bucket list forever, to experience the raw beauty and the wild life before humanity completely destroys it
3.Berlin: closer to home but I am curious to experience the culture first hand

3 things I never travel without:
1. 2 Wakeley blanket size cashmere shawls perfect for cocooning on an aeroplane and perfect for wrapping around you pareo style 
2. A small bottle of lavender oil. Nothing helps you drift off to sleep better 
3. My Lopez Belt bag. It holds my passport while in transit and doubles up on arrival into a dress cinching belt and/or clutch 

3 things that are keeping me sane during isolation: 
1. My photographs
2. Hermes soaps from the Bristol Hotel in Paris
3. Numerous pairs of reading glasses from the market in St Tropez

Isolation has me missing: My family and friends…particularly my mother
Isolation has me appreciating: Time…the little things in life…the value of rituals…the power of meditation 
I’m currently binge watching: The Darkest Hour (staring Russell Crowe and Sienna Miller), completely compelling viewing.

If I could go anywhere tomorrow I’d go to: Hiking in the French alps. Confinement has really made me miss the outdoors and nature. 

My top 3 bucket list destinations I’m planning to visit post isolation are…:
1. Visiting my brother in NYC who has just had a baby, Amalfi Coast (I go there every year, I really miss it)
2. Brittany – where I have also been several times but want to go back.
3. Interestingly, isolation has made me long for more “natural” places close to home.

3 things I never travel without:
1. My Lunya eye mask
2. My Eric Bompard scarf to keep me warm in planes
3. My Caudalie face oil.

3 things that are keeping me sane during isolation:
1. My Dyptique candles
2. My yoga mat
3. My livestream classes from Skyting Yoga in NYC.

Isolation has me missing: The spontaneity and sense of freedom – the ability to go anywhere anytime – and of course nature – which I was definitely taking for granted pre isolation.
Isolation has me appreciating: The piece and quiet, lack of interruptions, ability to reflect and think about the meaning of life.
I’m currently binge watching: I just watched the entire season 1 of Killing Eve in 2 days… onto the next one!

If I could go anywhere tomorrow I’d go to: Vals in Trancoso (Bahia) for a Caipirinha, they are the best!

My top 3 bucket list destinations I’m planning to visit post isolation are:
1. Ireland to visit my family, we had planned to be together this Easter.
2. Puglia, Southern Italy, we paused our Summer holiday booking when the virus broke in Europe but very much look forward to getting there as soon as it's safe to travel. 
3. Botswana.

3 things I never travel without:
Aside from Sun factor and a hat, My iphone, passport and Money;
1. A Three Graces Kaftan
2. Diorshow Brow Pencil in Brown
3. Chantecaille rosewater

3 things that are keeping me sane during isolation: 
1. My husband and kids
2. The sunshine
3. Cake and delicious food cooked for the most part by my husband

Isolation has me missing: My extended family, my friends, the freedom to travel
Isolation has me appreciating: My family and friends, our health, my home and generally how lucky I am to have so much on so many levels. Also I am very grateful for things that I’ve found at the back of cupboards. 
I’m currently binge watching: 007 Boxset

If I could go anywhere tomorrow I’d go to: Emerald Bay on Pangkor Laut Island. One of the most beautiful beaches I have ever visited – plus their bar serves some mean cocktails!

My top 3 bucket list destinations I’m planning to visit post isolation are:
1. Ranching in the US, my family love horse riding and I love exploring so its a great combination – I have my eye on Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga and Gateway Canyons in Colorado
2. A tour of Japan. I’m fascinated by their culture and the variety the country has to offer
3. Croatia to go island hopping – the sea looks incredible; my husband completed his day skipper course last year and so we are hoping to put this to some good use at the right time!

3 things I never travel without:
1. Our Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax roller ball or Sleep Mist are my must haves to help with sleep
2. Hydrogel face masks (particular favourites are Gold Collagen and 111skin
3. A large shawl, it just makes travel that little more cozy.

3 things from my travels that are keeping me sane during isolation: 
1. Our AA Dry Body Brush – I first started using it on a trip in New York after being given a demonstration and hearing it was Gwyneth Paltrow’s favourite.
2.Podcasts! I first started listening to them to try and break up travel time and just love listening to them.
3. Some super comfy lounge pants I bought from a small market in Tanzania – they remind me of an incredible experience there and clearly comfort is key for home working!

Isolation has me missing: People! Zoom meetings are great but nothing beats physically being together
Isolation has me appreciating: Our front line key workers – their commitment, knowledge, bravery – just everything!
I’m currently binge watching: Next in Fashion, I’m loving seeing the creativity and different interpretations of the same brief.
