Five Great Escapes With Nemo

The on-again/off-again nature of travel over the last couple of years meant only a lucky handful of us managed to time a trip with the relaxation of entry rules, so with many of the previously off-limit destinations opening up to travellers again, we think it’s high time to get out and explore all this world has to offer.

We’re incredibly excited for 2022 to be the year of rich experiences and far-flung exploration for travellers. But where to go, we hear you ask? We’ve rounded up five of our favourite immersive and adventurous destinations for every type of traveller. Read on for a taste of what could be in store for you in 2022…

In partnership with nemo.

The One for the Outdoor Adventurers: Costa Rica

For those seeking the ‘Pura Vida’ (the pure life), Costa Rica offers the opportunity to enjoy an abundance of outside activities. Boasting verdant rainforests, white-sand beaches, majestic volcanoes, and tumbling waterfalls, those looking for an active escape will be spoiled for choice as there are a plethora of incredible activities available to enjoy due to its terrain. From zip-lining (head to the cloud forest where modern, recreational zip-lining was first invented), surfing, and white water rafting, there’s plenty to get your adrenaline pumping. After a day of exploring, take a moment to relax, be present, and enjoy your incredible surroundings.

The One Trip Wonder: Sri Lanka

Whether you fancy lacing up your walking boots for a trek, heading on a wildlife scouting safari, trying your hand at riding the waves, or fancy exploring history-rich sites – this fantastic island offers it all in one trip, so it’s not hard to see why Sri Lanka is often referred to as the Pearl of the Indian Ocean. We recommend ending on the south coast so you can get some much needed relaxing in before returning home. If time allows, hop over to The Maldives to unwind in tropical paradise.

The Magical Multi-Generational Trip: Kenya

The past couple of years has meant more time apart from our loved ones, so a multi-generational trip is on the cards for many of us in 2022. Enter Kenya, which offers a whole lot more than an iconic safari. Serving up a variety of activities for all the family, from camel safaris and sleeping under the stars in Laikipia, to kitesurfing lessons on the coast and so many other gems that Nairobi has to offer – there’s something to enthral the whole family.

The Out of Office Optimiser: Morocco

Looking for an adventure, but don’t have lots of annual leave to play with? Turn on your OOO and in just one short 3.5-hour flight away (blink and you’ll miss it) UK travellers can find themselves breathing in fragrant spices in the bustling souks of Marrakech, sipping a deliciously sweet mint tea in an authentic Riad, riding a camel through the dunes, or soaking up the striking views whilst hiking in the Atlas Mountains. The possibilities are endless, and European travellers don’t need to use a lot of their precious annual leave.

The One That Gets You Off The Beaten Track: Jordan

From impressive archaeological sites and glamping in lunar-like landscapes of Wadi Rum, to experiencing floating in the lowest place on earth, or laying eyes on one of the seven wonders of the world, a trip to this incredible country offers wonderment to its intrepid visitors. If you’re looking for a bucket-list holiday where you’ll be mesmerised at every turn, Jordan might just be the one for you!
