What To Pack: Editor's Pick

The October Suitcase Hotlist

Things might be getting cosy with big knits and teddy bear coats back home, but on vacation it’s a different story.

Don’t panic if you’re torn between tiny bikinis and fluffy coats – vacation shopping doesn’t have to be all overtly resortwear. We’ve picked out October drops that work for home or hotel; high-summer or not-so-much.

Our fashion and beauty editor Lisa Haynes rounds up her monthly edit of what’s hot right now. Stand by for the very latest drops in the vacation shops.

Buy them now, wear on vacay…

THE SHIRT: Statement shirts are our thing. This is backless and see-through and definitely won’t keep you warm – but we guarantee it will turn heads.

THE BOOTS: Meet the ultimate transitional shoe boot, thanks to its neutral snake print. They’ll add some bite to your winter or summer vacation looks.

THE MIDI:  Oh how we love a skirt that does it all. Team this striped midi with a jumper and sneakers for city breaks, or a white vest and heels for balmy nights out.

THE BELT: Go Gucci? Gucci Girl? Get your double G’s on with this floral embossed belt. Be particularly extra and team it with a floral dress for a surprise print clash.

THE BIKINI: We’re going a bit wild for the cheeky paw placement on this leopard print bandeau. The swimsuit is a limited edition collab with animal print queen Charlotte Olympia.

THE SUNGLASSES: These Diors aren’t called ‘Hypnotic’ for nothing… Oval, tortoiseshell, navy tint and oh-so Nineties, these shades will up your eyewear game for winter sun or tropical rays.

THE DRESS: Seasonal rotation piece, sorted. Wear this denim tunic with bare legs on vacation, then button it up and throw over trousers once you’re back home.

THE EARRINGS: This ear candy is bling enough to elevate an outfit but not so OTT they’ll overshadow it. Go rogue and wear just one teamed with a stud.

THE BAG: The perfect combination of summer meets winter. This of-the-moment Muuñ woven straw bag comes complete with detachable red shearling pouch.
