Skye Niseko, Niseko, Japan
Opening: December 2018
Skye Niseko is a striking, modern hotel positioned high up in Hirafu village in Niseko in a fantastic ski-in, ski-out position. All the apartments are styled with stone and wood finishes and have floor to ceiling windows with stunning views of the active volcano Mt Yotei and ski slopes. Le Massif, Courmayeur, Italy

If the view of Mont Blanc is not enough to tempt you to this new eco-friendly hotel than its location in the Alpine resort of Courmayeur, famous for its excellent shopping, nightlife and skiing, just might. The five star hotel is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World and is just a few minutes from the slopes. We could spend all day gazing at those stunning views, especially over some hard-earned après ski at one of the hotel’s restaurants or the spa. Website

Our Retreat, Chamonix, France
Opening: February 2019
Consider Our Retreat if you want to combine a ski holiday with a wellness break. The boutique retreat combines excellent skiing with healthy eating, yoga and mindfulness classes. All meals are cooked by the resident chef using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and shared with fellow retreaters. Health and fitness experts lead daily classes, including yoga mobility, hiking trails and sound healing sessions. Website

The Josie, British Columbia, Canada
Opening: December 2018
The Josie, named after a local mine, is the first ski-in, ski-out hotel to be built in Canada for over a decade. Based on the Powder Highway, on the slopes of the Red Mountain in Rossland, the boutique hotels’ design is modern but cozy with deep soaker bathtubs, velvet sofas and heated floors. Chalet Hibou, Tarentaise Valley, France
Opening: Winter 2018/2019 season
Chalet Hibou is a stylish and spacious chalet located deep in the heart of the French Alps, perched on the French and Italian border, in the stunning Tarentaise Valley. Ice Village Tomamu, Hokkaido, Japan
Opening: December 2018 – March 2019
Hoshinoya Group, Japan’s luxury hotel chain, is opening a new hotel, the Ice Village Tomamu, this winter season. It will be Japan’s only ice hotel and is located in one of the best areas for skiing in Japan – Hokkaido island, where winter temperatures reach -30 degrees. Sleep in an ‘ice dome’ room made entirely of ice, bathe in an ice hot tub, and then warm up in the special after-bath Ice Lounge. Excellent skiing is just down the road at Tomamu resort. Website

Chalet L’Alpensia, L’Apogée Courchevel, France
Opening: Winter 2018/2019 season
L’Apogée Courchevel is located in the heart of Courchevel’s exclusive Jardin Alpin at the very top of the former Olympic ski jump. The ski-in, ski-out 55-bedroom hotel is one of Europe’s most striking alpine retreats, a collaboration between acclaimed designers India Madhavi and Joseph Durand. New for the 2018/19 winter season is the addition of Chalet L’Alpensia, a five-bedroom chalet spread over five floors with spectacular mountain views. Website
