This Week CF Loves

This Week CF Loves: 25.01.21

It’s almost “cheerio” to January (and not a moment too soon).

This week on CF, we’re seeing out the end of Jan clad with a motivational memo pad, a suitcase designed to get you back to the places you’ve been dreaming of, and… CAKE!

EAT THIS The Connaught Patisserie

The Connaught Patisserie is currently open for takeaway, and, honestly, we are beyond grateful for this escapist eatery. The promise of a post-supper treat (or an afternoon lip-smacking delight) has proven surprisingly motivational of late. In addition to its delicious handmade delicacies (crafted by Executive Pastry Chef Nicolas Rouzaud and his team of patissiers) The Patisserie also serves up some serious interiors, adding a touch of whimsy (and a hefty dollop of pink) to our otherwise beige days. We recommend picking up a chocolate Connaught hound hazelnut cake – it’s a miniature work of art – the next time you’re passing.

WEAR THIS LOEWE, cabled anagram mohair-blend sweater

Jonathan Anderson’s use of traditional knitting techniques are on full display in this fantastical fuzzy pink sweater. The cabled Anagram logo is luxuriously knit in mohair and translates (sartorially speaking) as a goes-with-everything pullover. What’s more: the puffed, drop-shoulder sleeves add a pinch of romanticism to an item that serves well as the finishing touch for everything from weekend jeans to sophisticated wide-leg trousers.

JOURNAL WITH THIS Smythson, 'Make It Happen' Panama notebook

Whether you consider your notebook a creative outlet for your latest ideas and musings or more of a trusty a pad that sits dutifully on your nightstand for pre-bedtime list writing, Smythson has you covered. This season, we’ve our eye on their ‘Make It Happen’ notebooks (we’re particularly fond of this pea-green iteration) – because a little in-your-face pep and motivation is just what we need. Plus, Kermit-green has never been more in vogue.

WATCH THIS Headspace Guide to Meditation, Netflix

Will this be the month you start your meditation journey? Maybe… if Netflix has anything to do with it. The streaming service has collaborated with the Headspace App in an eight-episode series on meditation, guided by Andy Puddicombe – former Buddhist monk and co-founder of the Headspace meditation app. Each 20-minute episode showcases a different mindfulness technique that aids in the practice of meditation – focusing on subjects such as stress, anger, and letting go. At the end of each episode there’s also a short, guided meditation. With a free app trial currently available, when better than now to test the waters?

TRAVEL WITH THIS Away X Serena Williams

In the second collaboration between Away and legendary athlete, entrepreneur, and avid traveller, Serena Williams, is available to buy as of 28 January. Designed to get you back to the places you’ve been dreaming of (WE’RE SOLD!) the limited-edition collection will include three new silhouettes, as well as a range of suitcases in new, never before seen, colourways – we’re talking coral, periwinkle blue and aqua. Drawing inspiration from the places Serena has always loved to visit, there’s a distinctly Mediterranean feel to this line.
