'Til The Last Drop #10

Welcome to ‘Til The Last Drop: a new column in which I, CF Beauty Editor, Olivia Bennett, share my bi-monthly review of a favourite cult product that I (truly) use to the last drop. This week’s featured product is Living Proof Perfect Hair Day.

I’m messaged by friends and family, at all hours of the day, with recommendation requests for everything from “the budget gel moisturiser that works with combination skin” to “the hard-hitting eye cream that will make Botox a last resort”, and queries on “whether X, Y, and Z from the current trending brand is REALLY worth the hype”.

Such incessant inquiries sparked this column, where I’ll cover best-selling names alongside under-the-radar brands to note. You’ll hear about blow-the-budget products that live up to their hefty price tag and the purse-friendly steals which I unashamedly turn to time and again.

No need to text me, I’ll be sharing all my intel with you right here every other week. Tune in.

THE DRY SHAMPOO

Off the back of lockdown living, our previously scrupulous routines have gotten a little lax, and we’ve become dangerously used to sleeping in a little later. Which is why dry shampoo is one of my beauty superheroes. I’ve tried many brands, but Living Proof Perfect Hair Days very much lives up to the mighty claims the name suggests. Yes, it actually CLEANS your hair, rather than masking greasy roots, working to absorb oil and sweat. The formula is very intelligent: the superfine powder blend seamlessly into your hair – without a trace of chalky residue – no matter your shade. It’s a godsend if you want to get more bang from your expertly coiffed blowdry, and it's also a gym-bag stalwart if you want hair to look fresh and bouncy post-workout with minimal effort. Even better, it adds a bed-head sexiness to your locks, with extra oomph and volume. I dub it more of a styling-shampoo hybrid – in fact, I sometimes even use it on freshly washed hair to give it a bit of texture pre-tonging, to make my waves last longer. Converted yet? I thought so…
