This Week CF Loves: 03.10.22

Hello autumn. This October we’re giving ourselves a warm hug with indulgent pampering (thanks Temple Spa), long walks in the park (hello Frieze Sculpture) and throwing on our ‘lived-in’ denims (thanks RE/DONE).

This week’s Citizen Femme Hotlist has you covered from top to toe and across mind, body and soul.

TRY THIS Repose Relaxing Night Cream By Temple Spa

With autumn leaves on the ground and a chill in the air, now’s the time to start showing your skin a little extra love. Here at Citizen Femme, we’re big fans of Temple Spa’s best-selling, vitamin-rich, Repose Relaxing Night Cream; it calms and rejuvenates the skin thanks to a luxurious mixture of ten essential oils. And that’s not all. When you buy a pot of Repose during October, you’ll get another for free – with £6 of every sale going straight to good causes. Over the last ten years, Temple Spa have raised over £1.5million for various charities that share their values: this year they’re supporting Age UK and Eden Farm, two organisations that do good both at home in the UK, and away in Africa. Now that’s what we call product with purpose.

EAT HERE St. JOHN Marylebone

The legendary Fergus Henderson and Trevor Gulliver are bringing their emblematic, holistic cooking, and much-revered wines to what has now become a foodie destination: London’s Marylebone. St. JOHN Marylebone will move with the day. In the morning diners will find delights from St. JOHN’s own bakery in Bermondsey: doughnuts, breads and pastries served alongside coffees or, later in the morning, a glass or two of champagne. At lunchtime, taking inspiration from the bar at its older Smithfield sibling, chalked blackboards are hung on the wall with daily small plate specials. They include loyal favourites such as Deep Fried Welsh Rarebit, Bone Marrow Toast and Parsley Salad, Onion Soup, and Middle White Chop, Chicory and Sorrel. As St. JOHN’s first ever wine-led establishment, there’s also a handsome wine list to help to inform the food offering. Curated by co-founder Trevor Gulliver, the emphasis will not only be on St. JOHN’s lauded own-label selection, but also bottles which reflect the deep and long-standing relationships with generations of vignerons, and that look to the future with new and exciting winemaker friends.

SHOP HERE RE/DONE Chiltern Street

RE/DONE’s Chiltern Street pop-up is the destination for vintage collectors and fashion lovers. Re/Done offers a ‘lived-in’ look by taking pairs of vintage Levi’s jeans apart at the seams and repurposing the fabric in more contemporary designs. The Chiltern Street location is the first UK pop-up from the brand and here, shoppers can browse ready-to-wear items, handmade footwear, vintage denim, and lifestyle products. The immersive store experience pays homage to the brand’s innovative sustainability and upcycling processes; industrial motifs are integrated throughout, alongside metal shelving units reminiscent of a warehouse, and unprocessed material displayed as artwork.

GO HERE Frieze Sculpture

As we say goodbye to the warm weather, it means we say a cheery hello to art month and Frieze Sculpture. This year’s Frieze Sculpture in The Regent’s Park, London features a line-up of 19 international artists from the world’s leading galleries, curated by Clare Lilley Director of Yorkshire Sculpture Park for her tenth year running. The 2022 display engages with a number of themes. Works by Robert Indiana, John Giorno, Tim Etchells, plus John Wood and Paul Harrison are structured as texts merging poetry and political messages, alongside works by Shaikha al Mazrou, Beverly Pepper, and Ida Ekblad, who create ambitious sculptures that are charged with the sensibility of women.

Frieze Sculpture is free, open to all, and runs alongside Frieze London and Frieze Masters, which both take place from 12 to 16 October 2022.
