CF'S Monthly Fashion Round-Up: June 2023

It’s time to plan your sartorial calendar, aided by the June dose of Citizen Femme’s monthly fashion round-up.

With cool collaborations, summer capsules and travel essentials, summer is officially in full swing.

THE NEW HUE

British accessories brand Métier have introduced a new colourway to their best selling suede, Gotland blue, a soft dusty blue grey hue inspired by co-founder Melissa Morris' travels to the Swedish island of Gotland –  the blue deeply emotive of her experience and time spent there. Available in four of the brand’s signature silhouettes, Melissa's timeless, clean aesthetic evokes a calm harmony for summer whilst remaining quietly luxurious.

THE SWIMWEAR

Clean beauty brand Rose Inc by British style icon Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has collaborated with sustainable swimwear brand Hunza G on a capsule collection launching exclusively on NET-A-PORTER, in the brand's signature crinkle fabric. You'll find swimsuits and bikinis in a range of earthy hues mirroring the shades of her beauty range, including terracotta, cream and coral, finished with Hunza G's trademark hoop detail. A match made in heaven for sandy shores.

THE COLLABORATION

Rio de Janeiro's most beloved fashion brand Farm Rio has joined forces with Parisian favourite Sézane on their first-ever collaboration that tells the tale of two cities. Combining Farm Rio’s fresh, tropical prints with Sézane’s elegant and chic Parisian styles, the collection exudes a joie de vivre shared by the Cariocas and Parisians. Sustainability is at the heart of both brands, so every piece has been made in an eco-friendly material. Deck out your summer wardrobe and enjoy for years to come.

THE SUSTAINABLE SWIMWEAR

Alicia Rountree-Zannier, founder of ALICIA SWIM, was born and raised on the island of Mauritius. Growing up by the ocean, Alicia was passionate about swimwear from a young age. Translating this into her own label of simple, well-tailored swimwear, Alicia's pieces are crafted from high-performance, sustainable Italian fabrics and are made on the island. Her latest collection uses coconut waste to create its buckle detail and are constructed from ultra-soft recycled ECONYL® fabric. Barefoot bliss awaits.

THE SUMMER SPLASH

If you missed out on cult French designer Jacquemus' Le Splash collection the first time round, fear not – it's back and available exclusively on The Outnet at even better prices. Aquatic blues, neon greens and candy-floss pinks are tempered with neutral tones in playful silhouettes for a summer wardrobe suited to sunny destinations.

THE SUMMER CAPSULE

Italian designer Marco De Vincenzo put a whimsical new spin on Etro when he joined the fashion house last year. His summer capsule collection is fresh and lively, full of vivid hues and prints that reference natural elements through the colours of summer. All-over foliage prints and wild berry motifs cover beachwear and swimwear, complemented by coordinating accessories such as scarves, bucket hats and bags. Etro boutiques in Italian luxury resort destinations of Capri and Forte dei Marmi will each have dedicated set-ups for the launch. Dolce far niente…

THE CULT SANDALS

Launched as a creative descendant of the iconic footwear label, Birkenstock 1774 is an exclusive line that showcases creative collaborations and new interpretations of beloved styles. The brand is a collaborative effort between designers, artists and architects that pushes the boundaries of the heritage brand’s DNA. Their second drop of the iconic Arizona sandal is just in time for summer, with colours suited to balmy days, home or away.

THE JEWELLERY

Out At Sea was the inspiration for London-based brand By Alona's summer collection. As the daughter of a fine-jeweller growing up with an exquisite family collection, Alona Shelem decided to create a more accessible brand using a range of mixed metals with diverse finishes. Drawing inspiration from her Middle Eastern and European background, By Alona specialises in re-envisaging the lost treasures of the Mediterranean. This collection plays with pearls, shells and beads that will transport you to tropical waters.
