Private Stylist Jordanna Sharp On Where To Shop In New York

Jordanna Sharp, a New York-based private stylist and personal shopper knows a thing or two about shopping. Here, she lets us in on her New York secrets.

Frequently spending her days trawling the stores of New York’s SoHo district, private stylist Jordanna Sharp tells us where to shop in New York. Including the boutiques to visit on your next trip, the best place to pick up vintage pieces, her post-shopping lunch spot, and the stores she loves for their unique interior design – bookmark this for your next trip to the Big Apple.

Where is the best area for shopping in New York?

Definitely SoHo, it has such a great variety of stores and designers at different price points, so it really caters for everyone. The cobbled streets are also beautiful to wander around as you window shop.

Where can we find the best vintage shops?

What Goes Around Comes Around NYC. This store has such a beautiful curation of vintage designer pieces; it’s a fun place to explore – and expect to come across some really special finds.

One place only locals know about…

Iconic Magazines in SoHo. This collection has every magazine you could possibly think of, and its really fun to browse all the magazine covers.

Your favourite local brands or boutiques?

The Webster in SoHo. The store design is fun and it has a great curation of brands, from high-end luxury to contemporary designers.

The best place to treat yourself is…

Bergdorf Goodman is the most beautiful department store, and it has all my favourite designers under one roof. The window displays alone are worth visiting, especially during holiday season.

Best overall shopping experience?

I prefer individual stores for the shopping experience because I find that they are more attentive, and typically quieter. I love the experience at the Toteme and Celine stores in SoHo.

Best store design?

The Toteme store (again). It’s minimal and I love how the clothes are displayed. The Khaite store is very unique – it has a masculine, edgy feel but also a giant tree in the centre, which is beautiful.

Best pit stop for lunch or coffee?

If you are in SoHo, stop by Lure Fishbar for lunch – it’s a seafood restaurant and a real New York gem. The food is amazing and the vibe is always super buzzy. It feels very “New York” to me. For coffee and a croissant, Sant Ambroeus is my go-to.
