Insider Guide To Stockholm In The Summer With Veronika Kant

The Scandinavian capital may see magical snowy winters but it’s at its best during the summer; this is your guide to Stockholm in the sunshine.

In summer, Stockholm comes alive with green parks, al fresco dining and warm cruises around the archipelago. Here, Veronika Kant, co-founder of Stockholm-based fashion brand BITE Studios, shares her insider guide to the city through her Scandi-cool lens, from the charming eateries and cultural spots to independent art galleries and boutique hotels.

Your favourite hotel to check-in at is…

Ett Hem. A beautiful boutique hotel that feels like a warm living room.

For an early morning workout head to…

One of Stockholm’s many lovely parks, Skeppsholmen is ideal for early morning walks.

Where should we go for breakfast?

If you stay at Ett Hem you’re already in the right place, breakfast here is quiet and considered.

How about for a long, lazy lunch?

Visit Moderna Muséet and have a long lunch outside after viewing the current exhibition.

Your favourite restaurant in town?

I really like a small restaurant called Wood Stockholm at Mosebacke – a square in the city. It’s run by such lovely people.

And for dinner with friends?

Babette is a charming place with a nice wine list.

The drink to order at the bar?

A beer at Glenn Miller café if you enjoy listening to live jazz – bring cash.

For the best views head to…

Some of the islands in Stockholm’s archipelago boast really beautiful views.

For a change of pace try…

Visit the Yasuragi Japanese spa hotel for a day spa experience.

In one word, Stockholm is…

Beautiful.

A must-try spot for date night?

There is a hidden bar at Hotel At Six – you’ll find it behind a door. If there’s a live act on, have a drink there in silence. It has a great sound system.

Your favourite neighbourhood…

Vasastan, home to lots of private galleries.

Great day trips include…

Going to Artipelag at Värmdö to have lunch and walk through the sculpture garden.

In the gallery district. Don’t miss Gallery Andersson Sandström, among other independent galleries.

Essential items to pack?

Silk shirt from BITE Studios, Sophie Buhai small pearl drop earrings, Nasomatto Baraonda perfume, Passion Simple book by Annie Erneaux and the Long Harper Bag from The Row.
