This Week CF Loves: 08.01.24

The 2024 ‘Ins’ are all about maintaining our emphasis on wellness, whether that is improving our sleep or adding plenty of laughter to improve our mood.

Comedy dining and home spas, cold water therapy and political art, this is what you need to book, try, see, do and eat in this week’s Citizen Femme hotlist.

DO THIS Manor House Hotel Alsager

The 2024 ‘Ins & Outs’ have been flooding our social media feeds, with google trends showing a 100% surge in searches on this topic. One common thing featuring on multiple ‘in-lists’ is Cold Water Therapy. With the huge benefits of this wellness practice highly publicised, Cheshire’s Spa at Manor House Alsager is inviting guests to brave its invigorating Ice Bath and two Ice Showers, bringing all sorts of health benefits for your 2024 needs. Improving circulation, boosting immunity, increasing happiness, decreasing stress, improving sleep, the benefits are endless. The simple task of immersing oneself into freezing cold water may sound unappetising, but after the short shock and endless benefits, you can dip into all the warming facilities. Are you ready to brave the plunge?

BOOK AHEAD Mam Sham

Supper clubs are shaking up the food scene, and another one that is very much on the ‘in-list’ for 2024. At the top of the list is comedy duo Mam Sham, aka Rhiannon Butler and Maria Georgiou, who are taking over the central London event space Outernet for one of their signature supper clubs. Creatively combining food and comedy through three courses and three comedy acts with Ed Gamble, Rose Matafeo and Crybabies, each will perform a stand-up routine alongside dishes inspired by each performance. Their premise is high-concept interactive dining with none of the pretentiousness but all of the quality. Not only does it promise to be a whole load of fun, all the profits from the event are going to Choose Love so it’s all for a good cause too. The first batch of tickets sold out in minutes but a second release is coming on 10th January, so be ready. Make no mistake, this is the hottest ticket in town this January.

VISIT THIS The Art of Banksy

Once seen as a vandal, Banksy, who is famously anonymous, is now revered for his work. For the first time, he is now the subject of his first exhibition in 14 years – and not even the man responsible for hosting the exhibition has ever met or spoken to the artist. Often with political suggestive art, the British graffiti artist is famous for his use of stencils and for his work’s anti-establishment and anti-war themes. A protester tosses not a Molotov cocktail but a bouquet of flowers; a young girl hugs a bomb instead of a teddy bear; a reproduction of Monet’s lily pads is marred by rubbish. Many of these images appear in “The Art of Banksy” tracing the artist’s career. Notable is a series of ad materials for The Walled Off Hotel, an actually operating lodging house in the Palestinian West Bank, which Banksy opened in 2017 to draw attention to a physical barrier constructed by the Israeli government. Visit the Art of Banksy’s new 2,000 square metre Regent Street home to discover the iconic works of one of the world’s most talked-about, current artists and what their work reveals today; the power of art to affect social change.

TRY THIS ZIIP HALO Facial Toning Device

Nothing beats an in-salon sculpting facial, but to achieve the look at home, the celebrity-fave beauty tool that helps to craft the perfect canvas for red-carpet-worthy looks is ZIIP HALO. Ease often takes precedence when it’s self-care at home. Apps, complicated routines, lengthy amounts of time, may not be what you’re looking for. Developed my Hollywood Aesthetician Melanie Simon, the fool-proof quality of ZIIP makes it easy to use daily. Just turn it on, move upwards every time it vibrates and switch sides when it beeps. It really is the closest thing to having a sculpting massage daily. How does it work? ZIIP uses both microcurrent and nanocurrent technologies to stimulate the muscles to contract and relax. The former kicks your facial muscles into gear for a lifted effect while the latter works on a more cellular level to encourage the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to help with cell repair. This in turn leads to fresher, brighter skin. Daily use is great to reduce puffiness but longer term, regular use is even better for glowing skin, with a balanced, toned complexion.

GO TO THIS The Beauty Triangle Festival: The Future of Wellness

Book in for an immersive day of wellness on Saturday 20th January, bringing together the very best practitioners and brands across the wellness and aesthetics industries, for an empowering day of education and experience.
