Every season comes with an abundance of new trends, but how many of them are actually wearable? CF’s fashion editor, Gemma Louise Deeks, decodes this seasons spring/summer trends.
From soft blue and buttery yellow to red shoes and barrel-leg jeans, these are the fashion trends for spring/summer 2024 we will actually be shopping – and the pieces we are buying now.
1. Powder Blue
This soft shade dominated the spring/summer runways and will be a complimentary shade for glowing, sun-kissed skin. Pair this pastel hue with neutral accessories for a fresh look that’s anything but chilly.

2. Butter Yellow
Even neutral lovers can get on board with this soft shade, this muted yellow is a soothing hue perfectly suited to spring. We love it as a silky slip dress, or cornflower accessories paired with white denim.

3. Not-The-Bride White
Florals for spring are having a season off, as designers have voted in favour of the white dress this spring/summer. A sartorial style staple in any wardrobe; whether embroidered, linen or cotton, a chic white dress will work hard over the next few months.

4. Red Shoes
Chilli red was a dominant trend for autumn/winter 2023, and it’s coming in hot again for spring with scarlet shoes that are set to spice up the wardrobe of minimalists. We’ll be wearing with ecru shades and silver jewellery.

5. Barrel-Leg Jeans
Barrel-leg jeans – an updated version of the boyfriend jean – are this year’s newest shape. Usually designed with a high-waist and an over exaggerated leg silhouette, they look great paired with a tank top and simple strappy sandals for a modern, minimalist look.
