The Beauty Haul Diaries: Eva Alexandridis, Co-Founder Of 111SKIN

Eva Alexandridis is the savvy woman behind the most efficacious of sheet masks: the cult-worthy Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask, of which 18 million units have been sold.

The brand is loved by A-listers from Priyanka Chopra to Margot Robbie, and supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, to name but a few. The London-based skincare brand was founded by Eva’s husband, esteemed Harley Street Cosmetic Surgeon, Dr Yannis Alexandridis, following twenty years of expertise and a desire to enhance skin recovery post-surgery. It was Eva who saw the spot in the market for hard-working cosmeceuticals to deliver unparalleled results and began the launch exclusively in Harrods. Since then, the brand has garnered worldwide status, transporting the Harley Street clinic experience into homes.

Equipped with her arsenal of face masks (for every skincare eventuality) we dive into Eva Alexandridis’ travel beauty regimen.

How do you adapt your beauty regime when you travel?

In humid environments, I stick with lighter textures. Our Y Theorem Repair Serum luckily comes in a normal and light formula, including all the same nutrients and actives. In cold environments, I layer our Celestial Black Diamond Serum, Hyaluronic Acid Aqua Booster, and Celestial Black Diamond Cream for maximum hydration.

Do you prefer to pack travel minis or full-size beauty staples? And why?

I take several staple full-sized products including my cleanser, serum, and cream. I always manage to get through cleanser quickly. Double-cleansing is a must; I’m loving our Vitamin C Brightening Cleanser at the moment, my skin is left dewy and bright. Our Boosters are so fantastic for travel, as they are compact and cater to a plethora of skin needs. Of course, it goes without saying that I never travel anywhere without my trusty Master-Masking Collection. I mask most days, so need to have this within arm’s reach.

What’s the best way to downsize your at-home beauty  for travel?

Travel minis are a lifesaver! I take a wide selection of minis, and a few full-sized products as my skin is constantly changing due to hormones or environmental factors. I need to be able to have choices when I travel. Our Boosters are my go-to, as I can mix and match due to my skin needs that day. I followed with serum and day creams, or use alone.

Do you have a regular plane beauty routine?

For a short-haul flight, I wouldn’t leave the house without double-cleansing, applying our Antioxidant Energising Essence, Y Theorem Repair Serum, and then applying Celestial Black Diamond Cream. On the go I would apply our Meso Infusion Lip Duo, and then use one of  our eye masks mid-flight. I am not shy in applying eye masks on the flight – lately my team and I have found that we get less and less odd looks. It’s becoming more of a trend!

For long-haul, I use a full face mask: I often layer the Sub-Zero De-Puffing Eye Mask, with the Y Theorem Bio Cellulose Facial Mask on top. I would leave the mask on for a good thirty minutes, then apply a thick layer of my Celestial Black Diamond Cream. I always ensure my hands are clean and sanitised throughout.

How do you unwind when travelling?

I swim in the summer, ski in the winter. If neither are an option, I always have my sneakers with me for a run.  I love to be active on my holidays and immersed in nature. When I am surrounded by fresh air I feel more alive, and find it clarifying for the mind.

What’s been your favourite vacation spa so far?

The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong: it’s a spa in the sky. The vista is truly immense and a must-visit.

What’s your favourite country to shop for home-grown beauty products?

I love fig candles made in Crete, as well as the scents homegrown from Bulgaria, my birthplace. With this in mind, we launched our Aromatics range.  The Serenity Oil was designed to alleviate emotional stress as much as physical. This comforting oil blends jasmine, tuberose, and sweet orange from Bulgaria, to help calm and centre.

What are your top beauty tips when travelling?

Use less make-up and more skincare. For example, a little foundation mixed with skincare, whether that be a booster or serum. Finish the look with a light pink lip and dewy cheeks.

How do you overcome jet lag skin/eyes when you land?

I never nap and always try to go to bed when it’s dark. I love waking up early to go for a swim or run, so I can have extra energy. Our eye masks are the perfect antidote to jet-lagged eyes. Use straight from the fridge with a roller for added de-puffing effects.

What’s at the top of your beauty wish list right now?

To have an at-home Cryotherapy chamber and an Infrared pod.
