The CF Checklist: May

It’s time to plan your sartorial calendar, aided by May’s dose of The CF Checklist.

As ever, we’ve rounded up the key pieces to add to your virtual shopping basket this month: from the updated basket bag, to the co-ord in the shade of the summer, and holiday-ready resortwear. Happy scrolling.

THE BEACH BAG

Meet your new arm-candy obsession: Folklore The Label's sculptural take on the basket bag. We love the undulating silhouette of this wicker tote, punctuated with a playful pop of neon leather. It's the perfect accessory for the beach, summertime picnics, and beyond.

THE PARTY DRESS

Hailing from Ibiza, De La Vali can always be relied upon for a covetable party dress. The latest collection, 'El Sol', conjures the spirit of a hedonistic summer, inspired by vintage glamour and retro pool parties. Heavily embellished with sequins, with a striking one-shoulder silhouette, this Cher dress is sure to leave a lasting impression on the dance floor.

THE BLAZER

A sharp blazer is the comerstone of every spring wardrobe, whether to elevate your favourite denim, or layer over a midi dress on cooler days. Swap up black for palette-cleansing neutral hues, like this Anine Bing blazer. The delicate houndstooth pattern – in cream and camel – makes an subtle statement, whilst the relaxed, slightly oversized silhouette is the very definition of relaxed tailoring.

THE SANDALS

Over the past decade Ancient Greek Sandals have become synonymous with summer footwear. To mark the Athens-based brand's 10th anniversary, they have unveiled a capsule collection inspired by famous Ancient Greek sculptures housed across the world's most prestigious museums. Staying true to their classic brand codes, the Artemis de Gabies sandal – inspired by the famed sculpture in the Louvre – is a slip-on style with a criss-cross pattern and wrap-around ankle strap. We won't be wearing anything else all summer.

THE EARRINGS

Theodora Warre's latest collection, Illuminate, comprises delicate pieces adorned with lustrous pearls and diamonds. We are particularly fond of these pretty hoops, boasting a kite-shaped trillion diamond, set in crystal to cleverly give the illusion of a bigger stone. The earrings are sold individually, and we'll be adorning our lobes with a variety of heart-shaped studs and bohemian-inspired charms.

THE HOT COLLAB

We'd quite happily snap up the whole Martha Ward x Bamford ready-to-wear capsule collection. In a sugary palette of soft pink, cornflower blue, and buttery yellow, the seven-strong collection is inspired by Martha’s belief that clothing should be comfortable to wear, easy to style, and, ultimately, pulled out year-after-year. Chanelling a nostalgic, vintage aesthetic, we love this sundress with scalloped straps. Made from 100% organic cotton, it's the perfect throw-on frock for endless summer days.

Launching 16 May 2022.

THE BIKINI

BERNADETTE has already taken over our occasionwear wardrobes and tablescapes. Not ones to rest on their laurels, the mother-daughter duo have just launched a collection of swimwear. Boasting the brand's signature artistic florals, these triangle bikinis can be mix-and-matched with an array of colourful sarongs, all in the ornate 'Daisylove' hand-painted print.

THE SUMMER CO-ORD

Mood-enhancing fuschia is undeniably the hue of SS22 and this co-ord by Australian brand Bird & Knoll may well be our favourite way to wear it. Perfect for when the temperature soars, the luxurious silk fabrication will keep your cool. We love the relaxed silhouette of these wide-leg shorts and oversized blouse to balance out the shouty shade. Wear together for a true statement, or wear the shorts separately with a minimalistic white vest.

THE RESORTWEAR

Alexandra Miro is one of our favourite resortwear brands to effortlessly embody poolside glamour. The latest collection – 'Island' – has just dropped, staying true to the geometric shapes and considered colour palette fans of the brand have come to love. This form-fitting, semi-sheer dress is a hardworking piece, taking you from the beach to cocktails. We'll be wearing ours over the Whitney swimsuit for a masterstroke in monochrome dressing.

THE PLAYSUIT

Piece Of White adds a structured, utilarian spin on linen with its SS22 collection in a chic palette of earthy tones. This stone jumpsuit is a playful alternative to a minidress. With an oversized silhouette, its essential for a hot weather jaunt. We'll be pairing ours with a chunky sandal for the ultimate 'out-of-office' look.

THE JEWELLERY MULTITASKER

We're all experts now with stacking up our rings and necklaces to curate an individual look, and now it's time to upgrade your ear game with NUE Hoops. The luxury jeweller is expanding into demi-fine products with an emerald and gold-plated charm as part of their 'stacking collection.' Offering the ultimate in personalisation, this charm can be added to existing hoops to curate a unique look. With a hook on the back, it can be stacked by itself, or used as a connector to hang more charms off of for a more maximalist look. This is your cue to go forth and experiment!
