The CF Checklist: June

It’s time to plan your sartorial calendar, aided by June’s dose of The CF Checklist.

It’s official: we’re in full holiday-planning mode. Whilst the weather isn’t playing ball this bank holiday weekend, we’re busy manifesting the sunshine for trips to come: pondering beach bags, throw-on dresses to take us from the pool to dinner, and the must-have sandals to cater for all your summer events. Happy scrolling…

THE BEACH BAG

Whilst our love for raffia bags knows no bounds, Marina Raphael presents a chic alternative for the beach. This plastic, clear tote is elevated with a nappa leather trim, and contains a removable canvas inner bag to discreetly stow away precious cargo. It can be handheld or slung over your shoulder if you are travelling particularly heavy-duty (me, always). NB: it's wipe-clean too – for any unfortunate sun cream/ ice-cream spillages.

THE EVENT OUTFIT

Australians know a thing or two about warm weather dressing, so it is unsurprising their homegrown fashion labels are aplenty. One such brand I am turning to again and again is new kid on the block, ALÉMAIS, who are known for using organic, sustainable fabrics, as much they are for their eclectic prints with a retro underpinning. This structured two piece – emblazoned with a painterly abstract print – is simply made for your next hot weather jaunt or languid garden parties to come – just add sun.

THE ELEVATED BASIC

St. Agni was founded on the principal of “less is more”, consistently delivering a capsule of clean designs in a neutral palette of brown, cream, white, and beige. Aka, nonchalant chic at its best. The Byron Bay-born brand has just unveiled an exclusive collection of elevated staples for Browns Fashion. This slip cami, with an ultra thin strap that cuts across the backless silhouette, is perfect for adding a touch of elegance on summer nights when worn with denim or a silk skirt.

THE EFFORTLESS SANDALS

I usually spend months mulling over my summer sandal investment, often leaving it until practically the end of the season. This year, I'm calling off the search early thanks to NEOUS' Sirius shoe. More substantial than a barely there sandal, it's constructed from indulgently soft leather that simply hugs the foot. With a conical 65mm heel, these will take you from daytime barbecue, to dinner, to drinks effortlessly – and more importantly pain free. Available in cream, black, terracotta, and mustard, I'm coveting the chocolate brown to complement myriad high summer outfits.

THE BEACH CAPSULE

ETRO have immortalised their signature bohemian print into an exuberant resortwear collection – 'Liquid Paisley' –realised in shades of bubblegum pink, sea blue, and citrus orange. The collection has all your hot weather needs covered, from shirt dresses to denim shorts, sarongs to beach towels. We are particularly enarmoured with this playful bucket hat, to add a gentle pop of colour to neutral ensembles.

THE TENNIS NECKLACE

There's always room in our jewellery boxes for a new piece of fashion jewellery and this dazzling tennis necklace from Daphine is an affordable investment. Best worn with a plain white T-shirt and denim for a masterstroke in understated daytime glamour.

THE BEACH COVER-UP

The secret to a hard-working holiday wardrobe is packing items you can wear on-repeat. Thus, I pay as much attention to my beach cover ups as I do my swimwear, to pull my look together and take it from day-to-night with no outfit change required. I love Australian label, BOTEH's bohemian-inspired aesthetic. This organic cotton maxi dress will keep you cool in the heat, and look as chic during day worn relaxed, as it will by night, with the sash waist tie to add polish.

THE LINEN CO-ORD

I've been on the look out for a crisp, cool linen two piece, and this one from Deiji Studios has fulfillled my minimalist desires. Pairing an oversized boxy shirt with relaxed shorts, it's perfect for lounging, but is far too chic to just stay indoors; I'll be wearing mine layered over a simple black swimsuit with chunky sandals.

THE TENNIS COLLAB

Anyone for tennis? Wimbledon fever is on the horizon so practice your serve wearing the sporty collaboration between Veronica Beard and L’Etoile Sport. Functional, modern, and feminine, the five-piece collection comprises elevated separates in a high performance stretch lace which looks as appropriate on the court ,as sitting down for a glass of Pimms after. Cheers.
