This Week CF Loves: 12.02.24

Love is in the air…And whether you’re a fully-fledged romantic or you couldn’t care less, there are some items to buy, some events to book and a lot of restaurants to experience that will undeniably make you fall in love.

From Alaïa’s ‘Le Coeur’ heart-shaped bag, which has reached cult status within the fashion world, an online interiors heaven you’ll likely get lost in, and a hidden brasserie that is ideal for your Valentine’s or indeed your Galentine’s, this is what we’re loving in this week’s hotlist.

TREAT YOURSELF TO THIS ALAÏA Le Cœur metal shoulder bag

If you can’t get enough of Alaïa’s iconic ‘Le Coeur’ bag, then this minaudière iteration is a must-have for your collection and ideal for the month of love (and forever). Crafted from gold-tone metal and shaped to a signature heart, it’s strung from a slim, adjustable leather strap that can be swapped out for a chain version. Stow your cards, key and lipstick inside and use the accompanying cloth to wipe away finger prints.

DO THIS Valentine's tarot readings at Sea Containers, London

Have you been wondering what your love life will look like in 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years this Valentine’s? Wonder no more. Whether you’re partnered, single and seeking, or just focusing on yourself, South Bank’s Sea Containers has partnered with The Wellness Foundry to offer powerful insights, guidance and clarity via bespoke tarot readings on Wednesday 14th February. Cultivate deeper connections and explore the mysteries of love for the year ahead. Head to Sea Containers Hotel rooftop bar, 12th Knot, after your reading or to warm yourself up beforehand, for a romantic drink and panoramic views of the London skyline.

CATCH UP WITH FRIENDS HERE Bar du Champagne, Covent Garden

An informal yet inviting space to catch-up with a girlfriend or enjoy a post-work date night has opened up in London’s buzzing Covent Garden. Bar du Champagne has all the ingredients for a sparkling evening. This modern bistro and Champagne bar is split across two floors with an outdoor, heated terrace and semi-private dining space, featuring an accompanying menu of exciting wines and Champagnes, from rare and hard-to-find cult Champagnes such as Champagne Pierre Peters Cuvée Rosé Alban which is no longer being produced to biodynamic Champagnes from the acclaimed Hugues Godmé to Spanish Recaredo cava and still classics in the form of aged Burgundy and Bordeaux vintages that are perfect for drinking now. Alongside your chosen bottle, select charcuterie platters alongside classic French bites such as a signature truffled Croque-Monsieur, steak tartare with lardo toast. It’s the kind of space that feels like it has been in London forever, letting you while away the hours, chatting with friends over dinner.

WATCH THIS One Day, Netflix

The second adaptation of the 2009 David Nicholls novel of the same name, One Day comes to Netflix in limited series starring Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall. Over 14 half-hour episodes, the series charts the friendship of two young students and best friends, Emma and Dexter, and their underlying romance over 20 years, before heading their separate ways- or so they thought, with the show following two decades of their intertwining lives (a remake of the 2011 film adaptation that starred Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess.) Set in University of Edinburgh, the two meet on 15th July, St Swinthin’s Day, in 1988. This date is key, as the story revisits 15th July in their relationship every year. Arriving just in time for Valentine’s, if you’re not heading out, get cosy in your cashmeres and snuggle up to Netflix.. and chill.
