Things To Do This March: What The CF Team Are Loving

As we start to see glimmers of spring, this is the Citizen Femme team’s list of things to do this March.

Including places to eat and stay, plus things to buy, watch and try – this is the ultimate inspiration to see you through the month.

VISIT HERStory at the Royal Opera House – it’s a walking experience that takes you through hundreds of years of the building’s history while telling the stories of the inspirational women who have been a part of it – from managers to composers. GO Although I believe everyday is International Women’s Day, I’ll be going to the Annabel’s IWD event, they have a stellar line-up of panelists including Jo Ellison (Editor of FT How to Spend It), Sultana Tafadar KC (the UK’s first hijab-wearing criminal barrister), and Zawe Ashton (actress and playwright). WATCH I’m very much enjoying Masterclass at the moment, and have particularly loved Indra Nooyi and Ava DuVernay. STAY I’m taking a little romantic getaway to St Barth’s, with perhaps a couple of nights at Eden Rock. WEAR The oversized Kaia blazer from ANINE BING, an ideal transitional wardrobe piece. SEE The New York City Ballet (NYCB) perform in a rare UK opportunity at Sadler’s Wells in Islington. I’m sure it will be an incredibly emotive performance.

STAY I’m looking forward to a glamorous weekend trip to Hotel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes and to swapping cold London for the sun-drenched French Riviera. BOOK A reformer pilates class at Reformcore’s new Mayfair studio. It’s close to the CF office which means I can do a pre or post-work class. BUY March means spring is coming, and I have my eye on this tan suede tote bag from TOTEME. It’s the perfect size for office days and I’ll be pairing it with tonal ecru looks. Secondly, I was recently introduced to DISCOTHÈQUE, a luxury home fragrance brand with the most divine smelling candles. Mudd Club is my go-to, with notes of vanilla, peach, coconut and almond giving me all the summer feels. WATCH I’ll be tuning in to Apple TVs Palm Royale, a series set in the 60s that mixes Slim Aarons’ glamour and comedic snobbery. TRY Ricari Studios signature face and body treatment at The Nomad, which employs a full range of treatment methods for revitalisation, sculpting and recovery.

STAY At the highest point in Santorini, at Santorini Sky. Villas here are carved into the hillside, two-thousand feet above sea level, so the views are sure to impress. EAT Elevated street food at Ortsag, Athens. The brainchild of chef Alexandros Tsiotinis – who is also the chef-owner of Michelin-starred CTC Urban Gastronomy – Ortsag uses CTC leftovers to prepare varying dishes, depending on available produce on any given day. READ Yellowface by R. F. Kuang. This book was the talk of the latter half of 2023, and I’m intrigued to delve in. It’s winging its way to my house as we speak. TRY To brighten my dull winter complexion with Guerlain’s Double R Renew & Repair SerumBUY A new swimsuit in an attempt to manifest summer days. I love the look of this Maygel Coronel one piece.

STAY I am off to Dubai for the first time and can’t wait to relax and unwind beside the beach at Jumeirah Al Naseem, before hopping across to the nearby Talise spa for an indulgent massage. BUY A new pair of white trainers, ready for the spring/summer season. I have my eyes on the classic Adidas Gazelle in Cloud White. LISTEN To Murder They Wrote: a true crime podcast with Laura Whitmore and Iain Sterling that’s the perfect companion for my walks to the office. TRY Virtual Reiki with spiritual healer Georgina Hemsley. It’s rumoured that her sessions can not only calm a busy mind like mine, but also improve your skin. I’m so intrigued. EAT With a helping hand from First Table. It’s an app recommended by a friend that allows you to book the first (or last) table at popular London restaurants to avoid them going spare, for a 50 per cent discount.

STAY Easter holidays are just around the corner and we’re heading back to Florida with our boys. It’s such a great place for a family trip with so much to do. This time we are staying at the Longboat Key Club which is packed with activities such as tennis, water sports and golf. SEE The Motive and the Cue at the Noël Coward Theatre with friends. It’s directed by Sam Mendes and looks fantastic. READ March 7th is World Book Day (as any parent with school age children will know!) so I will be popping into the wonderful Daunt Books with my youngest son to pick up some new bedtime stories. One World: 24 Hours On Planet Earth by Nicola Davies is on my list. An engaging, thought provoking read with beautiful illustrations. BUY I’m always on the lookout for unusual accessories for my house so was delighted to come across the gorgeous homeware brand Alice Palmer Co. I particularly love her fun striped tissue box covers. SEND Mother’s Day is coming up and I’ll be sending my own wonderful mum a stunning bouquet from Wild at Heart.

BUY The much-anticipated collaboration between Jacquemus and Nike has finally landed, and I’m eyeing this dress with its draped silhouette and chic details. It’s a must-have for summer. TRY On a mission for flawless makeup, I’m testing out ILIA Beauty’s Base Face Milk, as recommended by our beauty editor. Here’s hoping for that perfect glow! EAT There’s a new mid-week menu at Stork Mayfair this March. If you haven’t been yet, now’s your chance – it’s one of my favourite African restaurants in London. WEAR I’m gearing up for spring with my favourite pair of sunglasses from DEZI. Affordable, chic, and perfect for sunny days ahead. WATCH The new season of Blood and Water on Netflix. It’s been a ride following the story of twin sisters separated at birth. Definitely one of my top shows.

EAT In an old Georgian mansion, Brunswick House, a bohemian hideaway in the heart of Vauxhall. It’s filled with antiques, including an impressive amount of chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The food is great, as are the staff and, to top things off, there’s a speakeasy-style bar in the basement that hosts live jazz. WATCH I recently went to see Tina The Musical and was pleasantly surprised. The show is hard-hitting but beautifully put together, and with unbelievable voices from the cast. Be warned, you’ll have Simply The Best in your head for days afterwards. LISTEN To my current favourite podcast, Brown Girls Do It Too with Poppy Jay and Rubina Pabani. It’s about not being ashamed to talk about sex, and features honest and open conversations – all of which are relatable and hilarious. WATCH Crossroads has just been added to Netflix, and I’m delighted. This is an absolute childhood classic featuring Britney Spears at her best. VISIT The El Anatsui: Behind the Red Moon exhibition at the Tate Modern. It’s a monumental sculptural installation made of thousands of metal bottle tops and fragments, and is meant to be a highly experimental approach to sculpture.

DRINK I’m exploring the cocktail list at Little Blue, the bar from the hotly-anticipated Peninsula London. The list explores flavours that link the East and West. WEAR I’m very into wearing my hair in a high ponytail, topped with a bow à la Giambattista Vali couture. It’s the chicest and cleanest way to wear the bow trend. Try Marzoline x Alexandra Carello bows. BUY High Sport’s new drop on Moda Operandi. These gingham trousers with matching top will allow me to channel my inner palm beach princess. I’m obsessed. STAY With my two year old at Cliveden House – I have special memories of going here as a child and love to reminisce with my daughter. TRY Irene Forte’s Phytomelatonin Rejuvenating Serum. I love their ethos of nature and science, and this serum filled with Vitamin E feels so nourishing.

STAY Casa Lucia in Buenos Aires, featured in our list of 2024’s hottest new hotels, has just opened. With beautiful interiors, Le Club Bacan bar and Cantina Restaurant, it looks like the most stylish and exciting way to visit the Argentine capital. EAT The Confit Artichoke and Tarte au Chocolat at the chic Parcelles on a trip to my favourite city, ParisVISIT Art On a Postcard’s Annual International Women’s Day Charity exhibition is on until 12 March at gallery@oxo. They will be auctioning great art for a great cause: all proceeds go to the Hepatitis C Trust. READ Devotion: Why I Write by Patti Smith. I’ve already read a few books of hers but the blurb of this (an introspective look at creativity itself) feels particularly intriguing. BUY I’m desperately in need of new curtains for my flat and am so in love with the delicate EPOCA linen curtains in the colour tabac from Caravane. Very timeless, I love the way they hang as well as the embroidery detail.
