Where To Find The Best Christmas Lights in London

Christmas season is upon us, and it seems all of London is competing to create the best display of decorations.

London in December is a true holiday wonderland, especially when it comes to decorations. From the classic angels that beam over Regent’s Street to the unique and snazzy, themed displays over Carnaby Street – this year, even the Scrooges amongst us will enjoy London and all its sparkles.

We’ve compiled a list of our favourite places to get into the Christmas spirit.

1.  Grosvenor Square

Take some time to pause at the lovely Ever After Garden this month. The installation in Grosvenor Square is a remembrance garden filled with over 20,000 illuminated white roses, to create a peaceful atmosphere during the month of December. Visitors are invited to dedicate a rose in memory of a loved one, whilst making a donation to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. A beautiful place for a beautiful cause.

2. Claridge’s Hotel

Claridge’s has unveiled the Clardige’s Christmas Tree 2022, created this year by Sandra Choi for Jimmy Choo. Named ‘The Diamond’, this extraordinary tree stands over 5 metres tall, crafted from 69 shining, reflective mirrors. It’s finished with a giant, glittering bow topper – a nod to one of the key design themes of Jimmy Choo’s winter collection. As always from the group, this is true showstopper for guests and visitors this holiday season.

3. Annabel’s

Annabel’s delivers another spectacular dose of Christmas magic with a Carousel of Dreams emblazoning the façade of the club. Members and guests are greeted this December by a magnificent life-size Annabel’s Advent Calendar upon entering, with holiday-themed scenes inside each window. It’s nothing short of a Christmas fairytale.

4. Covent Garden

Covent Garden during Christmas-time is always a magical place, and there’s nowhere quite like the Piazza. This year is set to be even more whimsical. Enjoy the daily snow falls under the Christmas tree and take photos in front of the traditionally decorated sleigh, before going to the many exclusive pop-up shops.  One place with everything you’ll need to make your holiday-shopping dreams come true.

5. Bond Street

Shopping for Christmas presents in London has become a treat in itself thanks to the wonderful decorations. Bond Street has lit their Royal-themed, Christmas lights display, with decorations inspired by the Imperial State Crown and other royal jewellery. While there, we recommend taking a walk past Fortum and Mason to admire their Advent Calendar façade, as well as see the Cartier storefront turned into a gigantic Christmas gift.

6. Southbank Centre

The riverside cultural hotspot, Southbank Centre, will once again be aglow with festive illuminations and light-works from talented artists from around the world. All of them make mind-bending use of light, colour, and even boundary-pushing film to deal with issues and topics surrounding nature, technology, urban life, and spirituality.
