This Week CF Loves: 17.07.23

From Mayfair to Mykonos, this is what we are loving in this week’s Citizen Femme hotlist.

We’re coveting London’s hottest hotel opening, its coolest pop-up, and our fashion editor’s summer wardrobe secret. All with Margarita in hand, no hangover included. Yes, you read that right.

Read on for everything CF loves this week.

STAY HERE 1 Hotel, Mayfair, London

Setting the benchmark in sustainable luxury, hospitality brand 1Hotel opens its doors to its first European property. One of London’s most exciting openings, 1Hotel comes in at nine stories tall, featuring 181 deluxe bedrooms and suites, as well as a neighbourhood Mayfair coffee shop, a restaurant from Tom Sellers (of Michelin starred restaurant Story London), a vibrant bar, a bespoke fitness centre, and a Bamford Wellness Spa. In keeping with 1Hotels’ zealous commitment to sustainability, the materials used to adapt the pre-existing building have been sustainably sourced, with more than 80 percent of the existing structure retained in order to minimise carbon output via renovation and reconstruction.  There are more than 200 plant species across the property, as well as a new public garden outside. At every turn, guests encounter works exclusively commissioned from nature-influenced local artists designed to provoke a sense of closer connection to the venerable landscape of Britain.

VISIT THIS Noema Greece

Do you have Mykonos on your summer travel plans? Hidden in the historic lanes of Mykonos town, Nōema is an ode to the culinary heritage of this storied Greek island, located in a former open-air cinema. A hybrid space that shape-shifts as the night unfolds, Nōema boldy embraces the Cycladic spirit and way of life. The menu shines a spotlight on both land and sea, with ingredients cured, fermented, sun-dried and flame-grilled using time-honoured traditions, with a kitchen full of young chefs. The outdoor bar is where organic elixirs and cocktails are infused with foraged herbs and Greek spirits such as tsipouro, kitro, and prickly pear liqueur. The music presents its own experimental flavour, curated by DJ and producer Lannka, who encourages instrumentalists, sound artists, vocalists, other DJs, and unexpected talents from around the world to perform and collaborate.

EAT HERE Outcrop

In a new three month pop-up restaurant, bar and arts space from (amongst others) Clove Club and Luca founders Johnny Smith and Daniel Willis bring to you Outcrop. Set in the verdant courtyard of 180 The Strand, its restaurant comes from John Chantarasak’s AngloThai, with his wife and business partner Desiree Chantarasak looking after the wine. The food menu showcases Chantarasak’s signature Thai cooking using seasonal British ingredients. To drink, cocktails are worth coming for alone including the signature Tomato Top Negroni and a Cropped Martini – made entirely with ingredients from the British Isles. Running four days a week, Outcrop is being billed as a “verdant courtyard” and an “inner-city oasis” that will “connect guests with nature” — with publicity dubbing the project an ecologically-conscious “green social club”. Guests are encouraged to enjoy Outcrop’s central art installation – Sanctuary of the Unseen Forest – from leading art collective Marshmallow Laser Feast. Projected within the space, it is a large-scale, immersive video of a giant Ceiba Pentandra tree from the Colombian Amazon.

BUY THIS Mondo Corsini

No longer a fashion editor’s secret, Mondo Corsini contains your summer wardrobe essentials taking you from meetings to aperitivos on a terrazza. From clothing to summer baskets, vintage earrings to homewares, its a simple and relaxed aesthetic with an understated elegance, all you need to feel extremely comfortable and versatile, promising to make you look extra stylish. Using only pure, natural and breathable fabrics, such as cottons and linens, these are ‘buy now, wear forever’ pieces.

DRINK THIS CleanCo

Having a drink in hand over the summer months may be all too consuming, but thanks to a range of non-alcoholic options available, summertime tipples can be enjoyed as much as you want without the aftermath hangover. Clean T, the tequila-inspired alcohol-free alternative, captures the essence of tequila with oak and light olive aromas underpinned by soft fresh green agave and sweet melon, with a classic, peppery, dry finish. Perfect for sipping on the rocks with lime or in a Margarita mocktail. Zero drawbacks, zero regrets.
